Default Where, When are the new L-1011 Tristar Releases?

Good Morning, DA.C. The site chatter concerning the upcoming L-1011 release(s) has quieted. What up? We have the new Gemini Jets releases that are improving with each new version, and that's great, but what about AeroClassics and NGModels? So far these remain proposals, fantasies, and I'm saving my money, expecting when they do appear, they will be both excellent products (and expensive...) But when? Over, Doug

Keep 'em crossed, plans change, but according to NG, taken from the "NG Model: What to do in March & April 2019?" these were the likely first outings of the mould.

Hawaiian L-1011-1
British Airways L-1011-500 Landor / Negus
LTU L-1011-1
Delta L-1011-200

I'd be up for 3 of those.

It would be interesting to see a limited run of an Air Atlanta L1011 in basic Hawaiian livery. It was an exotic hybrid in Europe in the late 1990s.

No. Separate moulds.

I’ve heard the AC moulds look great. And the NG moulds are bound to be good.

Very excited by the fact that Aeroclassics have at long last, an L-1011 on the way, alongside NG's. So I take it that AC & NG are each producing moulds for both variants of the TriStar, L-1011-1 & 500?

I’d also be pretty surprised, if any were released before early summer.

I held off on the Gemini models, so hopefully my patience is rewarded sooner rather than later. Though those Gemini models really don't seem too appealing.

NG Model have confirmed that the sample L1011 models are planned for next Month for review, assuming all goes to plan I would expect to see the first L1011 production models released in the April or May 2019 schedule, as with any new mould and QC, dates could be subject to change.

Don't waste your money. As many others have said, it's a pretty half-assed attempt at an L1011.

If the real TriStar looked like that, British Airways would have been having nacelle-strikes all over hell and creation, trying to land that thing in a 5 knot crosswind.

I agree. It's probably a simply matter to some folk but for me, I have an eye for the smallest detail and antennae and nose cone, undercarriage bay markings etc add to the realism. Pity that the AC 762's do not have this.

If you do have an eye for accuracy, you would note that the antennas on 1/400 scale models are not in scale, and there an eyesore and a gimmick!

The 767s do have undercarriage bay markings now

It's a pity AC 762's don't have Piedmont markings

Not to change the subject, but it seems to me that the majority are completely unaware of all the 767 enhancements AC has made since the first round of releases.

It would be nice if people would look for all the positive things instead of always complaining, whining, and belly aching!!

Piedmont is sadly missed and NEVER forgotten; not to worry!!

Speaking of Sun Country, a 722 for the big brother DC-10 would be a logical next step. And while you have 727's on the brain, 721 in Emery red top (to match my DC-8's), and an AmTran 721 to go along with my 722. I think a Key Air and Skyworld 721 would also be stellar, but that's just me.

I’ll never quite understand this mentality.

I AM PAYING $30 DOLLARS, ALL MORTALS SHALL KNEEL BEFORE ME!!!!!!!!

Get over yourself. Learn the difference between making critiques and demands. One is a humble request, the other is an arrogant certitude. Do you really feel the best approach to get what you want, is to lead with “hey jackass, I’m paying you - indirectly - a relatively small amount of money!! So you’re now beholden to my beck and call!!”

Respect and tact go a long way. Your method is very likely counterproductive, as AK is probably now disinclined to indulge whatever it is you want.

Thanks Andrew for not forgetting Piedmont. Your Piedmont releases are always appreciated and keeps me hooked on 1:400 now that I am mainly collecting 1:200. I appreciated those 1:200 releases as well.

I’d love to see a re-release of the two EI 747s!

It’s also still April Fools

As I share your enthusiasm at the thought, it was one helluva letdown to remember the date.

The potential subjects for the L-1011 is nearly endless. You have the obvious ones to make. Wait a minute, even more obvious versions. I flew on all of Air Canada's versions several times.

Actually!! If you look at my posts you'll see I don't have an attitude like you seem to claim. In fact ( again if you bother to look at my previous posts!!) I've had criticism come my way in the past and IVE TAKEN IT AND ACCEPTED IT without bitching back!! So please make sure you know what you're on about first before just mouthing off!! What I hate is I've spent an absolute fortune supporting Klein and his product. I've given Klein a lot of very good comments and compliments ( again if you bother to read my posts!). What I don't appreciate is the very same guy telling me I'm being childish and just moaning/complaining ( something to that effect!). So no I'm not the Internet tough guy as implicated, I just don't appreciate people getting on their high horse, when all I'm doing is just making a contribution to the forum by giving my honest opinion. I should be able to do that...Whether I'm right or wrong. If I'm wrong like I have been I'll admit it,but I'm not going to accept every kind of insult hurled my way....even if it's from King High himself!!

For the record, my earlier remarks about whiners etc were NOT directed at you. Sorry if it came off as if they were.

The new Gemini L1011 (non -500s) are actually solid models. Not amazing/jaw dropping like the NG will likely be, but they are not nearly as big of a train wreck as the -500s are.
