It looks great except for the top aerial being inserted at the wrong angle. Let's hope Panda's QC hasn't deteriorated.

Still waiting for mine to arrive.

No, I see a lighter blue above the main Dark Blue color on the underside too, do you not?

I just checked mine and can't see similar. But yes it's there in these pictures. I suspect it's barely visible to the naked eye though.

It is probably due to bodging the lighting. I used a LED Daylight light instead of Strobes for speed. So ther probably is a bit of color distortion.

So you may want to get Blue Filter Spectacles....

First is gray balanced

second is warmed up a bit for the monitors that are too blue

It must be some artifact of how Aviaction is saving the compressed JPG or the lighting or something - I see it on his pictures too, but the model does not have this lighter blue stripe:

No light blue line, but a nice model.. You can fix the antenna in front of the tail..

No light blue line on mine either, but two pictures here with defects, and mine with a wing not glued in again, that makes all the Panda A321s I have bought recently needing attention.

A big shame as the models were otherwise excellent.

Honestly I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. Just goes to show how much the close-up photography on here can really magnify any errors out of proportion.

It looks like the model companies wants to be first with putting a model on the market without any good attention to the model..

Does Phoenix not make quality models? I am new to the 1:400 diecast world, but I did get the Phoenix A340-600 in the Etihad F1 livery, and it’s a beautiful model.

Why is this thread titled "Phoenix BA A321N" when it is about what crap those dirtbags at panda are producing??
If it was PH, I would consider buying it. I wouldn't even accept it as a gift if it's from panda!!

Phoenix do make lots of quality 400scale models. However, their A320 series and 747 aren’t among them!

I would say Phoenix make some quality 400scale models. The A320 is fine but the A321 is not. The 737s and 747 classics suck.

Most of the rest is fine but they are not best in show for any type (where there is competition) anymore aside from the A380 and 748. So they are distinctly middle of the road as a manufacturer and imho usually your $$ would be better spent on alternatives from Aeroclassics, JC Wings, NG Models, Aviation400, HYJLwings and yes Panda.

I don’t know anything about Aviation400. I personally don’t like a lot of the Aeroclassics I’ve personally seen on the internet. They looked low quality. I don’t know much about HYJL wings or where to buy (I heard they’re just like NG models). I’ve read that NG are fantastic. I’ve heard that panda are very good, I just don’t know where to get them and places I’ve seen, they seem to make mostly Chinese airlines or very low selection. I like JC Wings from what I’ve seen and read.

It’s really hard. I always want the best quality, but it seems to be one company has the best mold of X and Y. Then this company has the best Z while if you want a BLANK, then you need this company.

It makes it hard to know who has the best of what.

You can find plenty of HYJL wings and panda models engtaobao, if you do find and hyjl wings model that you want I suggest you get those quick because of hyjl wing's limited run on their models.

Some wacky quoting going on! Anyway you are right that it is pointless to buy only one manufacturer and I am not sympathetic to people that are loyal to only one.

Everybody produces models of roughly the same quality (although you could argue NG and HYJLwings are a cut above everyone else at the moment). There is no suggestion that anybody makes routinely bad models of the top 7 or 8 brands so don't waste your time thinking like that. Every manufacturer has their own style and their own issues. I would however say that Gemini and Phoenix tend towards the lower end of the scoring scale based upon my reviews at least.

What you need to do if you care about this is educate yourself as to the moulds in use, not who makes the models. Use the mould reviews section of my website. It is all a bit academic anyway a lot of the time as the manufacturers thankfully don't copy each other every month.

Build and research quality for everyone, aside from NG and HYJLwings, can be variable.

Incidentally any suggestion that Aeroclassics make inferior models is untrue. They have historically had by far the best moulds and make up over 65% of my collection of nearly 2,000 models. They are far more sought after than almost any Phoenix or Gemini Jets (the only two manufacturers with a comparable history of releases).
