Default Your Hopes for Aeroclassics in 2019??

After the recent thread about seeing what you'd all like to see from GJ in 2019, I figured it'd be interesting to see what everyone wants to see from AC??

Instead of going completely off the deep end and requesting new tooling that doesn't even exist, why don't we keep our suggestions limited to your top 3, and on moulds/tooling that currently exist in the regular AC inventory.

I know AC has never much been one for crowdsourcing ideas from the forums, but what the heck - will still be fun to hear everyone's ideas anyway. My own:

1) Northwest (1990's bowling shoe) DC-30/40/50
Within the last year or two, AC released Northwest DC9's both in the 80's colors, as well as the 2000's livery. I know SMA released a 3-pack a long time ago of the 'bowling shoe', but the AC DC9 mould is far superior. Would be great to see a triple release; -30, -40, and -50

2) Braniff (1983-1989) 737-200
Short-lived airline, though a cool history. AC previously released a BAC 1-11 for this airline, would be nice to see a 737-200 release in this livery.

3) Western (bare metal) DC-10-10
As everyone near universally agrees, AC does the best DC-10's out there. AC did the white livery Western DC-10-30, as well as the rare & short-lived Delta DC-10-10. But, so far, no bare metal Western DC-10. I know GJ once released it, but an AC version would be way better.

For anyone interested in reading/posting on the GJ thread, it can be found here:

Looking for these myself. Would get the -50 in Bowling Shoe for sure. Also would like to get the NW A319 and A320 in final colors on the AC tooling! And since AC has got into 757s now, a final colors NW 757-200 without winglets would be most welcome!

While I'm still on an AC DC-8 high, I'd like to suggest a couple DC-8-61s: Japan Airlines 1970s livery and Japan Asia Airways. Both done by AC and/or BigBird in the early 2000s, but I think it's time for a fresh batch on today's tooling!

A few:

1. SAS DC-9-30/40/50 in the 90's colours
2. Aviogenex 727, 737-200
3. Air Burkina F-28 (XT-TIB was a -2000 variant so would work more or less on the existing mould)
4. Britannia 767-200 90's colours
5. Monarch A320 90's colours
6. RAM 727, 737-200
7. . Azerbaijan Airlines 727-200

Plus I'd support others' calls for the:
- Nationair, Worldways Canada and Rich International DC-8's
- Air Zimbabwe 1990's colours 707 and 767-200
- British Airways, Dan Air 737-300's, and many others of this type as listed in another recent thread (although the mould may no longer be accessible)

I second all those above and would add UAT and Iberia ('80s hockey stick scheme) to the DC-8 list.

I would especially like to see many of the 'classics' moulds brought back to do liveries still not done -
the Comet ( Kuwait AW, Sudan AW, United Arab/Misrair/Egyptair, Dan-Air (4 & 4C)],
IL-18 (Tarom, Malev, LOT (final), Hang Kong Vietnam),
Caravelle ( Libyan Arab AL, SABENA ( final 'S' logo),
hopefully the B727-100 (Northwest delivery), Icelandair(delivery),
but many B727-200s still needed to be done( Royal Air Maroc, Air Algerie, Ethiopian)

DC-8s still needed to be done in 1/400: UAT, Iberia ('80s scheme), Air Ceylon, Surinam Airways, Air Spain, Seaboard World (-63CF)

Aeroclassics Comets still missing- Dan Air (4 & 4C), United Arab Airlines/Misrair/Egyptair, Kuwait AW, Sudan AW, East African AW, Saudi Royal Flt.

Id like to see some of the short DC-9's. More Midwest Express would be welcomed, Maybe some Texas International, Trans Texas Airways. And the new USA Jet Livery would be awesome.

Also, a great mold for the MD-80, that could actually be used and not just sit on the shelf.

Aeroclassics DC-10 mould remains the gold standard for McD's jumbo masterpiece. Two I want:

United DC-10 "Blue Star" colors. N1824U would not be a re-issue. It has blue titles. AC did N1818U with black titles.

N1824U Douglas DC-10 c/n 46623 United Airways
by eLaReF, on Flickr

PIA in 80's colors. No one, as far as I know, has done this aircaft in 1:400.

PIA - Pakistan International Airlines DC-10-30; AP-AXC, October 1977/BGC by Aero Icarus, on Flickr

Aeroclassics' 727-200 mould remains outstanding, as well.

Of course, as always, I want the Republic Mary Tyler Moore 727. With the reddish brown / brick red stripe done correctly, unlike NG who messed it up on the 757 by making it straight red.

That PIA late 70s -80s c/s is another one high on my Aeroclassics to-do list as well. The scheme was designed by Negus + Negus, no less. Good shout, Jim.

I've been after this for years! There are still many B737-200s to do. Britannia, Monarch, Air Malta (delivery), British Airtours Negus and Landor, Caledonian, Sabre Airways, Ambassador, Hispania, Lina Congo, Air Zaire, Ethiopian, Zambia Airways, RAM, Air Algerie, Air Sinai, Iraqi Airways, Indian Airlines, FAT, Condor B737-200s too.

When was the last time we saw an A300 from AC? I'd also like to see Orion, KarAir, Conair, Air Scandic A300s. Iran Air A300-B2 EP-IBS in current livery would also be nice, as it is still operating! Another Indian Airlines too.

Air Spain, Worldways and Crownair DC-8s.

Dan Air, Britannia, Monarch, Air Zimbabwe, Kenya Airways and Ethiopian B707s.

Air Malta, Conair and Britannia B720s.

Kuwait Airways Trident in the missing livery, as well as BKS, Northeast, Channel Airways, BA/Cyprus hybrid and BA Landor Trident 2s.

HS748 in the final Dan Air 1980s scheme, as well as the two main 1970s liveries. Thai Airways too.

Oh and a BMA Viscount please! I know that would make Adrian happy too.

Not possible I'm afraid as the Syrian Caravelles were Srs.10B with Pratt & Whitney engines. The Aeroclassics mould represents a Srs.III/IV with RR Avon engines.

DC-8s still needed to be done in 1/400: UAT, Iberia ('80s scheme), Air Ceylon, Surinam Airways, Air Spain, Seaboard World (-63CF)

The Srs. 10B1R could actually be reproduced and has already been made in LTU colours (albeit with the wrong windshield) because the only difference is the bigger engines but if I am not mistakem Syrian operated the Srs. 10B3 Super B, which is slightly longer.

Correct - another reason we can't have a Syrian Caravelle.

Again - not possible as the Air Zaire Caravelles were IIRs with a longer fuselage and JT-8D engines.

Still lots of Caravelle III/6 models to do that would sell very well I'm sure - Iberia (white nose delivery), SAS [SCANDINAVIAN titles], Panair do Brasil, Aerolineas Argentinas, AVENSA, SABENA & Sobelair(final scheme) to name but a few still not done.

I'll add hopes for my fellow Canadians...

727s for Air Canada delivery, CP Air delivery, and Wardair. Maybe Western Flying W, which was a frequent visitor to Western Canada

DC 10 in CP Air delivery

And in general more DC 8s!!

Thanks!

Any old props will do me.
Although I would also like to see the recovery/revival/repair/replacement (whichever is appropriate) of the short 727.

All of these have been made and aren't enormously difficult to find second-hand.

Now now, that's not how you really feel about AC's Airbus mould, is it?

Yes, a couple of months ago. It's received the IAG treatment, who surely must have scored a great deal on surplus white paint somewhere ? There's an Aer Lingus RJ (Cityjet) going about in this scheme now too.

I think you can forget about the Malev. The manufacturer doesn't seem to like making that livery. The model was made already in 1/200 by Western miniatures.

Aer Lingus got assimilated by the Euro-white Borg. YECCH! Stop taking color out of the skies!!! More color is needed in the skies, not less!!

Default Re: Your Hopes for Aeroclassics in 2019??

Regarding some of the good suggestions by others:

1) Surinam Airways--They operated the stretch DC-8-63. I would prefer to see a model of Surinam's fantastic colorful livery on that version of the DC-8 rather than the shorter versions. The stretch DC-8's are the granddaddy of narrowbodies, like a jumbo jet before jumbos. I for one prefer models of the stretch DC-8's over the shorter versions, when a carrier flew them. Better yet, do both.

2) Laker Skytrain is a great piece of vacation-carrier history. Not only the A300, as noted by BA2936, but the DC-10 would be welcome, too. I have the Dragon DC-10. An Aeroclassics would be better.

3) Western bare-metal DC-10: this would be a great addition. Regarding DC-10's done by Gemini that would be much better to have by Aeroclassics, throw in British Caledonian, as well.
