A couple thoughts:

- Glad to see their 767-200 mould is getting frequent use. I imagine both the Landor and the Glider will be instant hits.

- The first head-to-head comparison, between same NG and AC releases. Both the Easterns, which NG already has on market. And now the Delta - which NG has announced, but AC has now beaten them to market on. Assuming, of course, that the AC Delta is the delivery 80's widget color scheme.

I'll reserve any personal opinions on NG v AC until I see photo comparison. And, possibly, in-person comparison.

The Delta 757 is indeed in 80s widget scheme. Interesting decision to go head to head with already released and announced 757s from NG. Maybe that will open the door for an Aeroperú 757 from NG in the near future.

Looking at Waffle's pictures of the AC and NG Easterns, both NGs seem more accurate than their AC counterparts.

So far: I ordered all three DC-10's, which all look good checked against photos of the actual aircraft. I've been wanting both the Aeromexico and LAM for some time, so kudos to Andrew for getting those terrific classics out. And LAN Chile's 80's scheme looks great on the DC-10.

I also ordered the Gimli Glider, a must-have, and the Air Transat 757. The NG Eastern 757's are both indeed more accurate than AC's. AC's burnished metal is more true to the aircraft's bare metal look, however, so some may prefer that feature.

Holy radome, batman!!!!! I don't know what the heck happened up there, but there is no way the radome panel lines are remotely that prominent on the real thing. Also, it looks like the third bulk cargo door was included in the printing, which is inaccurate. No Delta 757-232 was ever delivered with, nor modified to include, the third cargo door.

NG seems to have an aversion to stepping on the toes of the incumbents. Which, really, I think is a good strategy to have as a new company. No need to create additional negative attention or animosity for themselves.

They actually responded to you, directly, in the other thread. When you raised this suggestion, previously. Lily's response:

If I had to guess, this is the reference photo responsible for the excessively-prominent white lines on the radome, of the Delta. Photo taken in the early 2000's.

I don't mean to stir up aversion for these releases; to contrary, AC remains one of my favorite brands. I'm just disappointed with the ongoing 757 QC issues.

AC did start working on the DL 752 before the NG was announced, but, yes, I do think it's a little distasteful that they did both of those Eastern 752s just after NG produced them.

Indeed, she did, and I completely understand the fact that NG does not want to step on frail egos. But given that AC is willing to step into NG territory with this batch of releases, I don't see why NG wouldn't consider producing their own Aeroperú down the line. Albeit with another registration or livery variant.

Mind you, it wasn't just me asking NG to take it into consideration. There were others who were disappointed with the many flaws on AC's release. Anyhow, its a mere suggestion and NG is free to do whatever they see fit.

The Air Transat suffers from a flaw in that the blue in the vertical stabilizer should meet up with the cheat-line.

Finally, the missing Aeromexico DC-10 scheme. Great release. I'll take this along with the LAM and LanChile DC-10s.

I will also take the CAAC and Air Canada B762s, but am not sure about the BA. From the photo on the ARD website, it looks like there are issues with the alignment and angle of the BA tail livery features. It may not be overly noticeable in this scale but I will have to check some more photos before deciding.

Well, lovely DC-10's and I'll get the BA (despite the apparent mis alignment of tail features ) and the Air Canada 767's....

I'd have loved the Air Transat, but the cheatline error might just kill it for me. Doubtful NG would make the same model now that this has been released, so I may just have to pass

Here's my roundup of this month's releases:

https://www.yesterdaysairlines.com/m...-2018-releases

Whilst it is easy to snipe at errors made (and there are several this month) it is also worth pointing out how good some of the models are, particularly the DC-10s. AC certainly can make a Douglas trijet:

Some great releases this month. The BA Lanor and maybe the LAN Chile DC-10 for me.

Unfortunately, from the images I have seen, window lines seem to be consistently printed too high. They include Delta 757, most of the Airbuses and 737.

Great link Adrian, the pantone colour reference pops up when you click on each bar.
Now wouldn’t it be great if model manufacturers could have access to such information? Or maybe they start out with the correct colour and it is somehow modified during the manufacturing process? Lets hope ACs latest Landor release is the correct shade on the ‘real’ model.

I just displayed all my Landor models together recently and there are a mix of shades for the grey that have been used by the manufacturers over the years.

Some of the AC Landor releases such as the BA B733, the BA/Caledonian DC-10s (and the B762 by the looks of it) have had what I'd describe as a green (or brown, to you) note to the grey, whereas other releases less so, such as the BA BAC One Eleven 400.

The old Dragon Wings Caledonian L1011 was too light and had an almost turquoise tone to it.

I have to say the recent NG BA/Caledonian B757s look spot on in terms of the Landor colours, although certain AC releases have been similar to this. When I get a chance I might post a photo showing the variations in this colour on various releases over the years.

What I don't get is when manufactuers make models in the correct colours, they don't keep a record of the correct Pantone shades, knowing that they will probably make another model in that airlines's livery? How hard can it be to keep a record chart that they can just show to the painters, instead of all this 'guessed work' for each model, only to get them all looking different?

Good point. I have often wondered this too!

Anyway, I have decided to order the BA B762. I'll just make sure it is placed next to the DC-10 (i.e. LGW in the mid-90s.) 😉

I've seldom seen two Landor models match in terms of the grey tones. Nice to see this released though, hopefully continual refinement will see a better sized nose wheel introduced soon as well. In the case of the Gimli Glider, maybe it's more realistically displayed removed actually. I guess Capt Bob Pearson didn't like his nose gear either ?

In past days I would have jumped on getting the CAAC 767 and the two Eastern 757s.

Yes, AC still needs to correct the 767 nosewheels!

I'll need to get some white Tamiya paint and take a dab at the Air Transat tail front. The model should be correct to begin with, of course. But as noted by PRM1162, we probably won't see an NG one now. And I've gotten more adventurous with trying to correct small errors or damage.

Is the 737 MAX9 mould any good? Can't remember if the mould is awful or not (get confused between the MAXs and NEOs)

Granted we only have Waffle's pics for now, but good Lord what's with the printing on the DL 757. Radome, windshield, cheat line too high/slopes up toward the nose, back of red widget cut off on tail, blue on the engine widget straight up vertical, extra cargo door, "Boeing 757" cut off in front of horizontal stab so it now ironically reads "NG 757" at least on the right side. Probably just says BOEIN on the left. Hard to believe that is the same mould.

I hope NG continue to make their DL 757 and I'll happily pay the extra few bucks if it turns out well because right now even with its faults the printing on my Gemini from 2005 looks better than this.

Just picked up the Aeromexico Ten Fifteen. That is one sweet looking model. Missed it on the first go-around (70s delivery c/s).

Here are the correct official colours that BA use:

If it matches all other BA models AC has made over the years, I don't give a hoot what color other manufacturers use. AC leads and doesn't follow!

I noticed the usual chorus line of malcontents taking their predictable snipes at alleged errors. Since I actually rejected 4 models this month, including the ZK- , it's certainly not due to any lack of effort on my part.

If some of you are looking for a 100% perfect model, go buy a real airplane, cause these replicas will NEVER be perfect, or collect photos or postcards.
Some of you have sucked the fun out of this hobby!!

I was at Atlanta airport yesterday and looking at 10-12 Delta planes parked at the Concourse there were several different shades of white, including a few yellowed out 757"s.

That's just it - it DOESN'T! Compare your 'Landor grey' on that 767 with your BA HS748 and BAC One-Eleven, then again with the correct shade on the BigBird 747s!
NG is leading at present !

I don't need to as NG are doing everything right! You 'used' to be the leader in quality but not lately!

Not sure why AC seems to think that there is a cabin window between the overwing exits on the 757. That horrible looking DL Widget release isn't the first time they've done that. Pretty atrocious errors that they continue to make.

I can’t help but marvel at someone so unwittingly shooting themselves in the foot.

For having a signature line of...

Well... GJ did release both a 727, and a new (revised?) mould of a classic type, last month. Which, as best I can tell, is about the next closest thing to hell freezing over. So, you’re not wrong...

My four arrivals from this month so far. The LAM DC-10 is immaculate, aside from the small tail issue with the Transat that is fine and I appreciate the buffer metal finish and different engines on the Eastern 757 compared to the NG (which I also own too).

Four more are on their way from the Waffle man.

Yeah, I'm also in that boat. That the DC10 is one of AC's best. That said, it disappoints me just a little bit, that all the DC-10-10's have DC-10-30 wings. The difference is slight, but still.

The BA 762 is a very welcome addition to the collection, didn't think we'd see it tbh. The nose gear is a little weird, it's all black, but I can live with that. The upper shading looks fine to me, doesn't look any better or worse than anything else in the cabinet, so all in all very happy.

Though I don't buy much in 400 scale anymore, I did add the LAM DC-10. Can't go wrong with a classics African carrier on the AC DC-10 mould!

Now lets see another Air Zaire release such as 737 or Caravelle!
