Default PandaModels October 2018 Releases

Just discovered these while doing the rounds online and on eBay.
Shame that it is so difficult to get an official announcement from Panda.

Lufthansa A330-300 D-AIKO "New Colors"

DHL A330-200F D-ALMA

DHL A330-200F D-ALMD

Airbus A330-200F F-WWYE "House Colors"

Now here's where things get interesting! Panda seems to have created a new 737-600 mould! Here's a beautiful SAS trio.

SAS-BRAATHENS 737-600 LN-RRY

SAS Scandinavian 737-600 LN-RPZ

SAS Scandinavian 737-600 LN-RCU

ANA 737-700 JA01AN

ANA 737-700 JA02AN

Interesting note that only three 737-600s have ever been released in 1:400. (HERPA) If I'm not mistaken, there's a limited amount of operators of the type so it makes it an interesting choice for a new release. Still not complaining since we get the beautiful SAS trio.

Looking forward specially to the SAS Braathens 737-600! I will also be pulling the trigger on all three A330s!

The 330F looks promising. I would've love to have one on order, however I have the GJ DHL 767-300F which I'm very happy with. But I'd be intrigued to see what other 330F's they bring out in the future. MNG Cargo, Tampa Cargo? Yes please!!!

Air China operated 737-600s so you can expect to see that in a month or two I imagine.

Will get the LH A333 for sure. Interested in the SAS B736, but will wait for photos first.

Both excellent choices! I've become a cargo junkie and would love both of those. I already have an Air Hong Kong/DHL A330F in my collection so I know that Panda does a great job with these.

Here's a vid of N33OQT Tampa Cargo. What a beauty!

I'm interested in the SAS Braathens LN-RRY, is it possible to see some photos?

To an ignoramus as yours truly is, I'm guessing it would not be terribly difficult to pass off an existing 737-500 mould for a 737-600 - maybe just redo the wings a bit (heck, maybe even that may not be necessary, if they could have gotten away with the 707/720 wings) and hang a couple of new engines under them

Give it a little time. Won't take long before we see some pictures. I'm also interested in seeing photos of these 600s before pulling the trigger.

Nice to see the 737-600 get some respect, the Herpa variant is impossible to locate and has a translucent plastic tail.

Don’t know why airlines never ordered the -600, but are all tripping over each other for the 717s frames out there....

I think, it is important to consider, both planes have been used for regional flights, so airlines counted on the better fuel consumption of 717s. Since 2007 E-jets surpassed both.

Same sort of problem as the A318. Both are heavy for their capacity. Ironically the lighter 735 is better for short haul, high cycle work than either 736 or 318. 717 is also like the 735 in this respect. The 736/318 are better for long thin routes, but why not then use a 73G/73H/319/320? Final nail in the coffin is that they appeared just as a big industry downturn was happening. When things picked up again, E-jets and long CRJ were on the scene. Pity really, I like the looks of both A & B shorties!

The SAS A340 by panda had the wrong colors, so I wouldn't be surprised if panda got the colors wrong again on the SAS 737 600 as the SAS A340 was released not too long ago.

I sit here with a bunch of models of this scheme from different manufacturers in front of me.

Panda, Aeroclassics, Phoenix, Dragon... none of them have the correct shade of orange/red and all differ greatly. I would expect a lack of uniformity given that they come from different manufacturers so I'm okay with that. I also guess that this is a tough color to pull off since nobody ever seems to get it right.

LN-RRY in full SAS scheme

taken at LHR 2/9/18 of LN-RRY

Unlesds Braathens painted the engine cowls orange, which I doubt looking at pictures, the engine cowls are Red.

Finally received my Panda order!

Here are some quick shots of my SAS/Braathens 600s. Yes, the engines are a tad too orange but the mould itself is great imo, and Panda's quality shines again!

I just got mine as well - not sure why so many manufacturers are making SAS engines orange these days - I've kept my JC A340 since it's the only one to have gotten it right on that type.

This 736 is a definite improvement over the old Herpa model though - even with the MLG at a bit of an odd angle.
