My models have arrived. I'll get the photos started.

Continental DC-10-10 N68046 in 1970's "Black Meatball" Saul Bass colors. This sort of model is why we need Aeroclassics. The best 1:400 DC-10 mould out there, making great classic airliners. This one kind of came out of left field as a happy surprise. The world can't have enough Saul Bass in it. As of right now, Waffle still has it in stock...by all means, buy it!!

United Saul Bass late 80's-early 90's large-titles 727-200. This livery looked great in both its earlier small-titles version with higher cheatline, and its final version. Aeroclassics has nailed the colors. As of right now, Waffle still has this one...buy it before it's gone!!

Received my Saul Bass Tens and Swissair Nine today, arrived in perfect condition and mega thrilled with these releases. Absolutely stunning models, glad I caught these when I did.

Likewise. It certainly feels like things are warming up in this department at the moment, for us retro collectors, Aeroclassics have been putting out some brilliant releases this year. It's a great time to be in the 1:400 hobby, with all the other possible developments being discussed at the moment too.

I hope they release another AVENSA in next month's releases, and maybe a SERVIVENSA!

Yes an Avensa 727-100 or Servivensa 727-200 would both me lovely.
Mind you so would Saeta, Aeronica 727-100.

Is it me or is the red much too dark here? I was going to replace my old GJ 767 in the same livery since that old mould is pretty wonky, but I got my 727 the other day and I'm having second thoughts about keeping it. The red on this seems far off what it should be, and doesn't match any other Avianca release that I have. Nothing worse for me than a model that stands out color-wise from others in the fleet.

Yeah I have exactly the same problem. I have a 707, 747-200 and the same 727-100 as you and they are all much more orange than this dark red 727-200. It does look very out of place.

I hadn't said anything about it, but yes, the Avianca 727-200 is indeed too dark. As is often the case when there's a color issue, Aeroclassics can look to its own past Avianca releases for better examples of color.

How hard can it be to use a standard Pantone bright red on these models? I reckon they used the same red on their Northwest DC-10s - too dark again!

Received my AC August purchase this week.
Quite happy with the new arrivals. Pity about the Icelandair DC-10 though.
