It's a fine month of releases that's for sure and I'll continue my long time support of Aeroclassics by buying 5 of them - all classic DC-8s and DC-10s.

Interesting to see that the 737s have satnav domes.

Here's my take on this month's Aeroclassics complete with pictures of most of the actual models. Whilst I'm sure the MAXes and NEOs will get most of the publicity for me it is the classics that make the month a good one:

Aeroclassics really hit it out of the park this month. Four classic DC-10's, plus a re-reg of an existing one! A good range of types, regions, and periods. Something for everyone to love. Nice range of countries on the new 737-MAX8 mould, too.

Waffle's pictures look promising. I've ordered all four new DC-10's, plus a Southwest MAX8 (a Rochester regular--always glad to get another AC for my ROC section!) and the Aeromexico DC-8. Hoping for an Aeromexico DC-10 in that scheme, in a future month, to join it!

Will post detailed pictures after they arrive. Glad I built some more shelving recently!

Air Florida DC-10 for me, and I already pre-ordered the Air Canada Max from Gemini so will wait for that to appear in a few weeks.

Air Florida, Ariana Afghan and JAL DC-10s for me. What a superb set of releases, and another expensive month! If AC do an Aeromexico DC-10 I will definitely be picking that up as well. I think JAL 8350 is a minor livery variant, with a pale grey painted belly rather than polished on this release?

Seems like the Southwest N8717M (10,000th) is a Waffle exclusive? I don't see it on any other retailer page.

I am wondering if this Max is an all new mould or a collaboration with another manufacturer. The landing gear is all AC but the satnav dome is a curious addition.

Mostly I only collect the planes that I have flown on in 1/400 scale. I was waiting and still waiting for Ariana Airlines in 1/200 from Inflight, but I guess this time I’ll buy in 1/400 scale and will keep waiting for 1/200. Also I really like Air Florida livery, might consider them as well.

The photos say all new mould. It is not the same as the existing 3 moulds.

The Ariana DC-10 is low production run number. If you want one grab one now.

Agreed! After ordering two Max 8s I had to go back and order the TAI DC-8 as well!

Wonderful set of releases this month.

Thai,TAI DC-8s and Ariana DC-10 ordered. Not sure about the Air Florida DC-10 as the green looks too dark and should be more of a 'Teal green' but the jury's out till I get to see one.

The TAI DC-8 has been long-requested by many and I wonder if this will pave the way for a UAT DC-8, both airlines merging to form UTA? Also TAI and UAT DC-6s would be great.

The missing B.707s still needed to be done in 1/400: Uganda Airlines, Luxair,

DC-8s still needed to be done in 1/400: UAT, Iberia ('80s scheme), Air Ceylon, Air Spain, Seaboard World (-63CF)

Aeroclassics Comets still missing- Dan Air (4 & 4C), United Arab Airlines/Misrair/Egyptair, Kuwait AW, Sudan AW, East African AW, Saudi Royal Flt.

Actually, it's ok if the green on the Air Florida DC-10 is a bit darker. The aircraft was leased from Transamerica, and they left Transamerica's green for the lower cheatline. So the green was a bit darker than the green used on the 727's and 737's.

Question Re: May 2018 AeroClassics

Did Westjet delay introduction of their new livery? I thought the max was going to get it.

I saw a press release of the new livery about 10 days ago. Dunno if their first Max's got it.
