Default Andrew, ETA for Aeroclassics DC9-30?

Andrew,
You hinted on the Tucano DL DC9 thread that we will see an AC version of the DC9-30. When do you plan to release it?

I don't believe AC is releasing a DC-9-30 but someone else is.

I agree with ZK. I believe Gemini is the one who's working on the DC-9 mould, not AC.

If it is from you, then may I assume we will see a Legend DC-9??? Which variant of the DC-9 did Legend operate? I am not sure.

DC-9-30, Ron. But it had a characteristic dorsal satellite antenna...not that it would bother me in the slightest if it was missing on a 1/400 version...

Chickenworks? Well then I'll take one of those purple/silver Texas International ones.

PS--will it come with GSE? I love Chicken's GSE.

The first set of releases will be coming soon from The Chicken Works. Shame on all you folks who are ordering the Screwcano DC-9. If it were in my power, I'd make sure you don't get any of my new Chicken Works DC-9s.

Here are some hints:

1. Something US retro.
2. Something US retro.
3. Something US retro.
4. Something US retro.

And we have in preliminary consideration a few multipacks.

....what the good doctor meant was:

1. Trans Texas
2. Southern
3. Delta
4. C-9A
5. Iberia (OC) --(just to boost the European sector sales)...but I'd take one too!

And nobody pester me for some obscure Latin American airline that flew only two of them, both for hauling meat into isolated farming communities in the Andes.

European sales? Who? Why in the hell would I want to do that?

Let's review:

1. Something US retro.
2. Something US retro.
3. Something US retro.
4. Something US retro.

If that wasn't clear enough for you, then you shouldn't be buying any Chicken Works releases.

Talking The Chickenworks first releases!

The Trans Tejas's will come only as a six-pack and will be attached to each other with a plastic holder suitable for carrying them to picnic's and tailgate parties.

The Ozark will come in a plain brown paper bag...

What a buzz-kill, Doc!! ...............There goes all hope for the oft-requested LAN-Lago Titicaca~Patagonia Express DC9 in the "Summer llama-meat surprise festival" livery!

Hmmm..................maybe I could have a drunk Westjetter camp out on your front lawn to demand this release..............and wouldn't THAT be an educational opportunity for the chick-lettes!

There better be something in there for your west-coast homies (me, Dar, Piarco, Scott, Walter, et al.)!! I'd specifically recommend a PSA! This is my most-wanted model in 1:400, as it was on this aircraft I took my first flight ca. 1982!

All you retro fans will have your dreams and wishes fulfilled with the upcoming Chicken Works releases. The DC-9 is one of my favorite birds and as a diehard retrohead, you bet your a*s we're gonna have some fun with this mould.

I'm not sure which of you is putting money down for that Tucano dog-log, but if I find out I'm gonna punch you in the brain.

Then when you see the Chicken Works DC-9 mould, you'll punch yourself in the brain for going with the dog-log and not waiting.

And Jeff- Westjetter is more than welcome to camp out drunk in my front yard as long as that dimwit does't mind several rounds of buckshot headed his way.

West Coast didn't fly the DC-9-30, they did have Baby Nines, though, Jeff.

And no, no way in hell am I going to release the LAN-Lago Titicaca-Patagonia Express-Visit Macchu Picchu 1973-summer lease from Aeromexico-hybrid titles DC-9-30. Screw crap like that.

In that case, even though the first one isn't off the line yet, I think you should release a West Coast FANTASY DC-9-30 BEFORE any regular production airlines!

Actually, I knew that West coast had only the baby-'nines....I didn't pay attention to the title of this thread, (nor did I think that the Chicken-Works would limit their scope to just the DC9-30 series!

That's the type of forward thinking that the Chicken Works needs, Jao! I've been lobbying to become director of marketing for the Chicken Works, but have met stiff resistance from its mercurial CEO!

Actually, get a case of Shiner and the good doc might listen to reason (and profits!). There's a huge market for US Retro, but in an uncertain economy, it's prudent to diversify your product. Therefore, an Iberia (oc) and CebuPacific DC-9's would work well with our,....ummm, I mean, the Chicken Work's market strategy. The Iberia would have plenty of overlapping demand in the North American market and combined with the built in European market, could more than fund several "esoteric" US retro releases....Ozark, for instance.

Correspondingly, the special release of several CebuPacific DC-9 schemes (City of Davao, City of Cebu, Philippine Centennial, classic livery, etc) would have exceptionally strong sales in the Asian sector, and yet have enough interest in the North American market to assure a complete sell out--even if all 4 special schemes and the classic scheme were released simultaneously. This would assure a reserve of capital to assure a steady flow of DC-9 releases for the next few years. As always, study the prospectus carefully before investing! And keep up the campaign--JP is a reasonable, but sometimes capricious corporate leader!

Thumbs up Ah, the possibilities!

Hey Doc,

I have a sneaky suspicion that you have already thought of this, and I do hate to be so predictable.

You just have to do a Super DC-9 with a forward slant Widget!

I can't remember if the first of the -32's for DL had the full "Delta Air Lines" titles though. Does anyone have a shot of an early DL DC-9-32, fresh from the factory?

With that for starters, you could then round out the series with the upright Widget, and perhaps the black Snoopy-nose that the DC-9's had at the very end.

Whaddya think???

Don

My Convair is gonna need some "retro" company at the ATL Jet Base!

Amen on the Convair and yes, for a very short time some DC-9-30 had the "sideways widget". There is a picture of one on Airliners.net.

My question was more about the titles, as opposed to the widget. I cannot recall if the first DC-9-32 had the full "Delta Air Lines" titles above the cheatline, as the original -14's did???

Me and Jao totally love the livery. The choice of livery is the one and only good decision Tucano has made as far as my point of view is concerned.

But Tucano still sucks.

Thumbs down

Sniff-sniff, I smell something foul.
Sniff-sniff, I smell a dog log.
Sniff-sniff, I smell a Screwcano release.

You Filipino homeys ought to be mighty pissed off that Screwcano is doing this livery on one of their dog-logs.

I'll bet the Doc can prescribe a remedy to this injustice to Cebu Pacific and their devout fans. One trip to the Paint Bay at Chicken Works and we'll have a beauty everyone can be proud of!

Go Doc, Go.

Eagerly awaiting this and many more,

Don
