Hi guys, I’m trying to get hold of some of these models in 1:400 diecast: RAF Red Arrows, Typhoon, MiGs/Sukhois, F-35/104/22 or similar.
The best I can find is these F-15s which come with a Dragon Warbirds E-8C or C-130, but they look like they’ve got no undercarriage, and each time I’ve found them for sale, the F-15 has always been missing. I’ve never found any other fighter jets in 1:400.
I would consider 1:350 or 1:375.
I’d also consider plastic models, but not 3D-printed versions or kits unless they’ve already been built.
— Have you got any similar models?
— Do you know who makes them or where to get them from?
I’ve already got an SR-71, a Tu-160 and other bombers/freighters but no fighter jets except in 1/100th or 1/144th.

Tamiya makes (or made) two sets of 1/350 U.S. Navy aircraft sets. I've built both sets about 24 years ago and they look great. Pretty detailed but lack payloads and missiles.
Here's what is in each set: 1:350 U.S. Navy (2 each) item 78006
Grumman F-14A Tomcat
Vought A-7E Corsair II
Grumman A-6E Intruder
McDonnell Douglas F-18A
Lockheed S-3A Viking
1:350 U.S. Navy Aircraft set no. 2 item 78009
Grumman EA-6B Prowler (2 each)
McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II (4 each)
Grumman E-2C Hawkeye (2 each)
Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King (helicopter 2 each) folded or unfolded rotors
decals are included
maybe you can find these kits on eBay. I have two unassembled kits, but not being in the U.K., you may want to look closer to home first.
I didn't get to my age by being impatient... I waited.
good luck finding much fighters in 1/400. I myself has the dragon sets with b2, f117, f16, f15 but as said, they have no landing gears. also have the rare dragon b-2 set that does have the landing gears... but that's it for 1/400...
you have a lot more selection for fighters in 1/200 as well as also having a few executive jets. I started a 1/200 collection just for that purpose.
With some imagination one can do wonders in 1/400 scale;
F-16, F-15 & TU-160 with landing gears added. Besides Dragon Wings B-2 Seagull Models did the B-2 as well as the F-117. Plenty of other military models done by Dragon Wings in 1/400 scale. B-1, SR-72, B-29 come to mind
Thanks for the good photos, ve2nw – are they all models where you’ve added your own landing gear?
And are you Zareh the TinTin fan per chance? I’m just guessing because of the text on your photos.
If so, we chatted a few months back about a specific Witty Wings Air Pacific 747 that I’d flown on.
If not, then sorry that I’m just jumping to conclusions!
I've got both the new Gemini RCAF C177 with the canadian flag on the tail and the original Gemini RCAF C177 they made back when the Canadian air force first got the C17. I've also got a B1B Lancer in camo, a KC10 that came with a F16, and a RCAF Dash 8 by JC Wings.
my pride is a custom RCAF C130J. there isn't a full length C130J out there yet so it's a little inaccurate but it looks good
