Default Aer Lingus MD-11 by JC Wings finally !

I must admit I'd been hoping someone would do this for years, especially after the Tristar was done. I only stumbled on the release news by accident, so in case any other Lingus fans are looking for it, here's some info.

Would love an updated livery (belly logo) A330-200 next, preferably on the Phoenix mould !

XX4046 | JC Wings 1:400 | MD-11 Aer Lingus N272WA | is due: March 2018 - Aviation Retail Direct

Love that green,as well as the MD-11. I assume this is a World Airways airplane? Philippine Airlines use to serve Vancouver with a leased World MD-11. That is going way back.

Yup, used to see them at YVR. That flight continued onto JFK if I am not mistaken.

Yeah at least two leased (I think ?) from World Airways as a stop gap solution whilst the A330's were being delivered, back in the late 90's.

"When are these available?" Good question. JC Wings is doing great things, but not necessarily on schedule. Pre-order sure, but it may take a good while before you see your model. Doug

The Swissair chocolate-colors MD-11 was announced at the same time, and I'm still waiting on it. JC needs to get to a one-month announcement / release schedule like other manufacturers!!

For now, I'm not pre-ordering JC models. I wait until I see Waffle's pictures of actually-produced models on his website. Yes, I know JC will get it made. But he needs to get on the one-month program like other manufacturers. If I miss one, I miss it.

Those are the new release pre-orders, the Aer Lingus and Swissair were announced as pre-orders around six months ago. They 'may' or 'may not' be in stores around August 8th. I'm not holding my breath however...

Never pre-order any JC or BB Mk3 unless I see the real thing. Otherwise there may be big disappointment like the empty promise CX Tristar.

Nothing I've heard anyway. Was it last year or year before JC announced everything held up for that year would be out by that December ? Maybe a similar thing will happen this year ? At this rate maybe NG will bring us these models ?

Nope, no further news AFAIK. I suspect the next Aer Lingus release we get will be something in the new livery which is scheduled to be revealed in Dublin this Thursday. Lot's of Eurowhite I gather !

Another Eurowhite ? No, please.

Lufthansa tarnished its brand with a banal new livery, and its Group members are following it.

I read the Eurowhite permits some savings in the fuel consumption, but the brand awareness should be a worth. I don't understand these decisions.

I f**** hate all these eurowhite trashy liveries!!! So many airlines have gone from a real interesting scheme to something that's just absolute ****e!! So much for pride in their branding???

My pre-order that included it ended up shipping, but it was not actually delivered along with the other items, nor was it in the release announcement that accompanied said delivery. So I am assuming that it may not see the light of day anytime soon.

An ebay seller has the JC Swissair MD-11 for sale citing January 2019 release. Have messaged them asking for info regarding availability - awaiting response. Anyone heard any news on this release?

Yes they look good together don't they ? Not quite an ideal paint match, the shamrock is s different shade, it's closer to Gemini and Aeroclassics A330 releases, and the MD-11 appears to be a slightly deeper hue of green, compared to most other Aer Lingus models in the 1998 livery, but a pretty nice piece all the same.

Such a shame that they've succumbed to 'Euro-white', and lost their distinctive green top. Lovely model though.

Yes it's a shame indeed, i also share your sentiment towards the older iconic Aer Lingus livery..

Yep good video and I think they've made a big mistake getting rid of their iconic green top, KLM have kept their blue top and hopefully have no plans on changing that! In fact I can only think of Korean Air as the only airline not to have changed it's corporate identity at all for a very long time - that blue top scheme was introduced in 1985 I think, and is still going strong...

Look what I have just found on ebay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Swissair-MD...MAAOSwb7RcuV9m

The JC Swissair MD-11 finally makes an appearance and a tractor tug to boot! Looks pretty impressive although it’s hard to see if they’ve gone all out with a chrome underbelly or ‘silvery’ metal.

Nice find. The tail looks a bit orange in those shots too, but I'll withhold final judgement on that until I see more pics in different lighting. I'd kinda like to replace my Witty DC-10 in these colors since that has the much-too-tall landing gear.

The pictures aren't very good pictures. They look overexposed. Waffle will take better pictures when his shipment arrives. Now let's see how long it takes for JC to get them to the retailers, like Waffle, through whom people pre-ordered them. Waffle is still showing the Aer Lingus as 'pre-order.'

I'm still waiting on the Aer Lingus myself - that was the last JC I pre-ordered though. I've still got a couple hanging out from October 2017 that they still haven't made Not making that mistake anymore.

Oh, absolutely. I have long refused to pre-order JC models. This making people wait months or over a year for some models is absurd. I pre-ordered the Swissair MD-11, but certainly am not making that mistake these days.

Announce models, grab money, perhaps manipulate the market?....and then make everyone wait. Not a business model that shows much respect for customers.
