So always looking for more GSE led me to try these raw metal cast vehicles. I bought 2 of most vehicles they had but now I see they just released better cars.
1:400 car set
So my pics are their older hand cast? vehicles. They had a waxy coating so after I cleaned them up with 600 grit sandpaper I bathed them in bathroom cleaner for a light acid etch. My airbrushed Tamiya paints stuck with no primer. FYI, matte paints are bad, the pens I used bled into the paint. I suggest gloss paints which are easy to wipe off pen inks. These castings are not very good, but the new cars above might be worth a try.
After painting I used multiliner pens and Sharpies to color the windows and wheels.
I have 2 magnifying headsets, the cheap black ones on the right are best since they are low magnification, but the built in leds are crap. Mine also had broken inner lens mounts but I didn't need the second lens anyway. The headband is uncomfortable so I added white baby corner protector foam with double sided tape. Avoid the white glasses on the left, the magnifying lenses are way too powerful and worthless. The USB led lamp and powerbank give much needed light for the detail work with the pens. All these tools are on ebay for cheap.
The vehicles look to scale, better than the oversized Gemini set.
I got the people too but they are more like humanoid blobs not worth photographing.
