Great set of releases this month. That completes all the different scheme variations that Eastern used on its DC-8s, including one to replace the old Gemini model. The TCA DC-8 comes with 15 pieces of GSE I'm led to believe, unless it will also be available as a stand-alone model? The Air India A310s came into Heathrow and Gatwick, so that will be a great addition to my Air India fleet.
I would have got the IranAir 737s if they had been IranAir DC-6s, maybe one day. Will the Aloha 737s pave the way for some Aloha Viscounts and F27s I wonder?

Great set of releases, from various decades and regions. I ordered the Aloha 70's and 80's flower schemes, and an Air South.

70's and 80's USA local service carriers are one of my high priorities, my childhood, teen, and college years. The Aloha 80's hockey-stick has been on my wish list for a while, and an AC of the 70's flower scheme is also welcome.

80's and 90's USA Deregulation carriers are another favorite of mine, so I was thrilled to see Air South. Air Florida 727, Pride Air 727, and Air Atlanta 727 would also be terrific.

I am so happy to see the Alohas released, especially N801AL which files one of Aloha collector's voids.

Now, Mr. Kline, PLEASE release the F-27 and the Viscount in their delivery liveries and our dreams would be completed.

Why is it Andrew continues to promote the AeroClassics range "Like a fine wine, AeroClassics gets better with time."

After the disaster with last months Qantas A330 printing errors the logo on this months LATAM A321W is wrong.

How does this happen when there are so many pictures on the web to follow.

I think Andrew needs to look very seriously at the quality control of AeroClassics.

Gonig for the Air Canada A320. I'll be damned if I'm going to miss the Aeroclassics Air Canada Airbus' again! And I'm especially more interested since Gemini took a dive and is fitting all of it's A320's with NEO Engines.

I was going to get the A321 and Rouge A319 from last months lot but I can honestly say, for the first time ever, I didn't buy a model because the mould sucked

Adrian, I believe that one more Eastern DC-8 needs to be made, the -20/30 I the last sky-blue and darker blue "hockey stick" scheme.
Then we may call the EAL 8s complete.

Jetstar 1, Mauricio, Sometimes, an error on a model may actually look better than the actual aircraft livery. In the LATAM case, I think the a/c company may want to reverse the logo and adopt the bolder logotype. ACLX may actually have something going here ...

That's actually not quite the case. The first few EA DC-8s had additional large DC-8B titles and that version has not been made. EA had to take them off when other airlines went to the CAB and complained that the DC-8B didn't exist!

Richard, I am referring to the last livery worn by the 8-20/30s, not of the "falcon jet" variety.
Once my posting sabbatical completes, I would hope to attach a picture or two as well. 'Till then please refer to google images of "Eastern DC-8". The "hockey stick" I am referring to should usually pop up as the first few images. I believe these are long past the A/B controversy

Please radio back,

Regards all,
Ted

Understood Ted I was answering more Adrian's comment. The hockeystick is yet to be done I agree. In fact there was also an experimental hockeystick scheme I have seen in a photo too, which was quite different to the simpler experimental schemes some of the Electra and Convairs wore.

I talk about the experimental hockeysticks in this post but I only have a paper photo of the DC-8:

Looking at the pictures of the Air India A310 on Waffles site, the starboard side registration detail looks to be printed at something like a twenty degree angle off horizontal. Has anyone else seen this on their examples so far ?

I presume you are joking, if not I will send you a list of AeroClassics mistakes you may like to take up with airlines that need to change their font style and logo.

In the mean time these problem models are all fantasy models and not worth buying.

As mentioned before you only have to look at pictures on the net to get it right.

Finally the Air-India A310 is here, thanks Aeroclassics!
Will go well with the AC Air-India and Indian Airlines models.

Will be getting the Emirates A310 as well.

Is there some kind of story about why Eastern chose 3 different titles on those DC8s? Some lame marketing experiment?
Having "Fly" in the titles seems silly to me. I would think most people seeing an airplane don't need to be reminded to fly with that brand.

There are multiple reasons since there were actually 4 variants across two completely different schemes. When mine arrive I will no doubt deliver a blog post all about the Eastern Eights so stay tuned to my site.

The registrations on the AI fleet with this livery were applied with a backward slope as per this photo:-

Cool; I look forward to a nice story from you as usual. I tried to search the net on it but after 10 minutes I gave up. Lazy.

Anyway, if I had to pick my favs of this batch I'd go for the India (cool native text) and Aloha models (Brady Bunch style).

Thank you for posting, Andrew.
Is there a good possibility we will see AC make AA's A321S? I'm surprised we have only seen one if the 1:400 scale.

Additionally, will we get to see Avianca Colombia (AV) Airbus* A319S/A320S/A321S in the new livery?

And, finally, I would love to see Mexicana's (MX) Airbus* A319/A320s, Fokker 100s, Boeing 767-200 & 767-300ERs in all liveries, but in particular, the last one?

*I left out the A318s from my lists as I believe AC won't manufacture the smallest of the Airbus Babies.

I've been waiting for an Avianca A3/19/20/21 in new livery myself! I don't care much for the recent older livery releases. Also would love to see an ATR (JC Wings)in new colors, though I highly doubt those will ever see the light of day!

And AC does not have a F-100 mold. Gemini/JC Wings has a good one though they never release anything on it so don't hold your breath.

Default Re: AeroClassics New Releases for June 2017

I still wait for my entire Waffle order of June 2017 Aeroclassics. The Aloha hockey stick 737 dropped from in-stock to "pre-order" during the middle of Friday evening while I, who like many people have a life, was out (in my case, playing soccer). Didn't see that it alone among the models I had ordered was sold out and back to 'pre-order' within an hour or two of release, or I would have ordered it separately.

One could order either Air South. the Aloha 90's, or the Aloha 70's flower-power, today, and they are "usually ships within 24 hours."

Anyone who knows the 1:400 70's and 80's markets could tell you:

--The AeroPeru red top would sell fast. A hot-pink outrageous 70's national carrier livery that had (per DiMA) never been done in 1:400? Yep, that needs a bigger production run. Fortunately, Waffle found me one in Europe.

--Of course Aloha 80's hockey-stick flower livery would sell fast. 70's flower-power had been done by (admittedly inferior) Gemini, but it was out there. As was the 90's livery, done by I think Gemini and SMA. Of course, Aeroclassics is what many of us want, but the presence of existing models relieves the overall market pressure a bit. The 80's livery (per DiMA) had never been done in 1:400. Yep, a bigger production run was needed on the 80's livery.

And...I'm probably not the only one who would be grateful if releases would not be on Friday evenings. Lots of the world is out having a life at that time.

I went through this the previous Month with the Garuda delivery livery PK-GEA. I ordered within an hour of announcement that Friday evening while being shown as "in stock". later got an e-mail.... didn't have it. 30 days later, it arrived.

Jim
I peek at Waffles stock levels to see how urgent i need to get on with the ordering.
From the model on Waffles page click the DIMA id #, it sends you to the DIMA database page and by scrolling down to the bottom it will tell you how many he has left. If 1 or 2 you have to get busy....if 24 or so you can go out for a beer.

There is one this month. It's not in the list above but it is listed as available for pre order from ARD.

ARD invoiced me for the Air India A310 during the week, then promptly cancelled and refunded the next day saying they never received any. I'm in two minds here...

Ordered it and here's hoping. It would also be great to get a British Caledonian DC-10-30 on the Aeroclassics mould to replace the seam tailed Gemini example from years ago.

I've been lurking about Adrian and making the odd post over on 1:200 but frankly there's not been much to get excited over for a couple of years now, especially in 1:400. Hardly anything matches my collecting criteria any more. Still, I've ordered the BCAL A310 as it almost fits the British Classic category and if Andrew would consider doing one in Sabena colours I'd get that too as it was the only A310 I've ever flown in.

Fingers crossed Allen, I ordered one the other day along with renewal of the club membership - a new card arrived today at least 😀

I normally wouldn't bother as I've got the GJ version but this new AC definitely looks an upgrade.
