Smile Hello guys! I love airplanes in house colors

Really glad to join in this community finally. I have hundreds of diecast airplane models in my small apartment, which are mainly 1/400. Among all the categories, I like house colors the best. Wish to meet new friends and have fun here.

Greetings papabear747,

Welcome to the forum. Handsome collection you have there. Well displayed too. You'll find lots of collectors here interested in house colors.

I see you list your location as 'Beijing'. I just left there, virtually, of course, on my die-cast A321-211, Reg. B-2290, bound for its hub in Shanghai. Don't know if it qualifies as 'house colors', but its pretty active livery for my conservative collecting habits.

Again, welcome. Interested in seeing more of your collection in the future. Cheers, and Happy Collecting, ArnoldC.

Nice collection! There was once I saw a 1:400 A380 in the green primer color, but it's not so detailed.

Speaking of A380s, I have three SQ A380s in Phoenix 1:400 and they all seem to suffer from the same issue after some time which is the nose landing gear 'tipping' up and plane is just supported on the main landing gears like imbalance. Even trying to push the nose landing and letting go, it just tips up again.

Does yours or anyone's A380 model have the same issue?

Nice meeting you here ArnoldC!
To my understanding, House Colors mean the original livery of airframers like Boeing or Airbus. But the China Eastern special-liveried A321 is a nice model too.

The green A380 (MSN5001) is produced by Dragon Wings, which is a unpainted test plane of Airbus.

As I know, the "nose up" problem can be found on some early Phoenix 1/400 A380 products, just like a Emirates A380 of mine. Looks this problem was fixed on later products.

Welcome Papabear747. Very nice collection you have. Speaking of the bare A380, I have always wanted to see one of the manufacturers do a 747-8i in the same fashion. Wonder how well it would sell though?

My not so early 9V-SKK have this issue and an even more recent SG50 9V-SKI is also starting to have this issue. Seems like the rear of the model is a bit too heavy.

Oh ok so it's by DW, but their A380 mould still falls short from Phoenix Models. But the one I saw is different from yours as the nose is more blackish and does not have the banner.

Thanks, papabear. New here to this die-cast airliner collecting. I'm learning the jargon and terminology as I go. I remember things best after I've put my foot in my mouth.

Collecting house colors must make for an interesting collection. Looking forward to seeing more of your collection as you post along.

Cheers and good collecting, ArnoldC

Thumbs up Re: Hello guys! I love airplanes in house colors

Cannot agree more! Dragon Wings issued a green 747 LCF long long ago, but it looks like this manufacturer has abandoned its 1/400 product line. BTW, I am a huge fan of Dragon Wings.

I guess you are right. The issue may be caused by too much weight of the tail.

The other green A380 you mentioned is also by DW, whose factory number is MSN 004. Pls see the attachment.

Welcome to the forum papabear747! Great collection you have there!
Speaking of house colors, I wish someone could make some of these. There are some really great liveries that are largely ignored by model manufacturers.

Very nice! When I was back at my local hobby store to collect my SQ A359, didn't see these A380s already. Hopefully will get to chance upon it again someday.

This is exactly what I am always thinking about! And I would add A300 first flight to the list.

717: maybe GJ

737-700 demo: maybe AC

757 and 767: maybe GJ

767-400: hopeless...the only mould holder DW has suspended or stopped its 1/400 product line

The problem is the business consideration of the manufacturers. New colorful special liveried airplanes are always welcomed by the market. In the meantime, house colors fans are minority...

717, 73G and 757 may be we can count on PHX?

Herpa has a 764 mould in 1:400 and they have done this demo livery in 1:500. I don't know why they don't make this happen in 1:400.

Sorry I forget Herpa 767-400. Herpa also issued a 1/200 plastic 767-400 in demo livery which is very hard to find now.
Not sure about PH, as this brand does not care about old airplanes in recent years. They had a few very good house colors products years ago, like DC-10 and MD-11. I guess they are focusing on new airplanes like 787 and A350 now.

Thank you Kitty Hawk 1903!
Another exciting new model is GJ KLM Fokker 70 in new livery, as KLM Fokker jets have been sold out for a long time...
