Default Why so many KLM releases lately?

Is it just because KLM has recently been in the spotlight with the last flight of the MD-11pax and now their 95th anniversary? It just seems incredible how many KLM releases we've seen these last few months! I'm not complaining at all, I think it is excellent, just wondering why all the model manufacturers are suddenly jumping to do KLMs.

It's about time. I remember that when I joined this hobby, up until a few years ago, KLM models were sort of hard to come by, and releases were few and far between.

Oh I agree with you. Its just curious that there's been a recent 'flood'of KLM models. I was wondering if it has anything to do with a licencing change?

95th anniversary + the launch of the new livery + most of the collectors seem to like them

I'm limiting myself to 1 KLM model per month. If manufacturers want to release 10 or 20, that is fine by me but won't go crazy over them.

Not nearly enough however in the most popular blues, ie, the 1990's delivery colors of the B744, MD-11, and B772 !
The after-blues blue is also striking and successful.

What I am concerned about is if the "nose swoop" dip-of-blue was really necessary...

KLM fleet building IS addictive, above and beyond the 1:400 virus.
On that note, what I would welcome nevertheless is PH-KCG MD-11 Maria Kalas, et al. !
Also, I missed PH-KCD "Florence Nightingale". Any sightings ?

I'm also a KLM collector. I just can't get enough of this livery. The sky blue is just amazing. It must be something related to the livery or this airline's history. Or even the reliability. If I'm not wrong (collectors please correct me) this is the oldest airline in history that is still flying with the most iconic aircraft. Finding old models is hard and expensive. I can't add the Fokker 50,70 and 100 to my collection yet...some day!
Keep the KLM models coming out...

I like KLM also. So far I have the 747 (80th anniversary) 777 Asia, 767, A310, and DC-8. Thinking of adding a A330 not sure which one.

While we're at it, an Aeroclassics / Big Bird mk. I-quality KLM B747-200 in the 1970's-1980's blue-top livery would be welcome. The one Aeroclassics made is rare and hard to come by.

+1!!!!!!

I have a MAJOR KLM 70s-80s blue top fetish - my Aeroclassics 767-300 "Brooklyn Bridge" is one of my top 5 favorite models.
