Hello Micheal, yes indeed, it's an exceptionally difficult model to find, it's been on my wishlist since 2007! The only other version that is very similar in quality is the Witty/Apollo model which was produced in 2013, at the same time as more Pan Am 747 releases - they were made on the same BB400 mould I think. It also has a 3-Window UD, different reg. (JA8112) but has a silver painted belly rather than polished, like this one. The printing is also very good, the 'Japan Air Lines' title is nice but still not as strong as this original BB400 model, which I think is still the best version made so far. The Witty version is also difficult to find though. Good luck with your search!

Crooked engine on VH-ECB fixed. Luckily no modelling knife required, just a very careful manipulation with fingers...lucky I have lots of experience in that department

Nicely done, Andy! Always good to see an AC / BB 747 repaired / corrected if needed!

From Waffle's collection sale page. Absolutely beautiful model--right out of JFK in the early 70's.

Thank you, Jim! And a very nice score indeed on that Twin Globes 707. A true classic on a stunning mould.

From the collection sale Jet-X TWA MD-83 N9615W, she is still flying today for American. I flew on the bird last Aug 14 2018, my last MD-80 flight. Sat across from the rear galley door next to the flight attendant jump seat, engine sound music to my ears.

Picked up a couple exceptionally rare Aeroclassics 737-300's recently, thanks to a couple DAC members. Really excited to finally get both!

Nice models, Transpac!! I love 80's and 90's 733's. I wish AC still had "access" to a mould and could do AirCal and Morris Air.

From the Waffle collection sale page: Singapore Airlines DC-10-30 in 70's colors. I loved this early version of the livery as a child, and still love it today.

Good catch, Jim. I found the other version without the 'California here we come' titles in the Waffle sale too, a week or so ago

Nice, I got this on initial release. It fits my GLA collection criteria, I used to see these in the early 80's picking up holiday makers bound for Spain

Nice picture, what do you make of the new Lufthansa scheme in the 1/400 scale? Does it actually look nice or is it overall plain to the eye?

The picture doesn't do justice, its looks better in person, I like the new colors, with the all white wings and engines.

Thank you! I've been contemplating the new Lufthansa A346 Gemini is due to release soon but I'm not over impressed by the "Euro White." Your feedback is helpful.

Great models Jmmccarthy2002! I have both of those 737's. I wish AC would do the UA blue-star DC-10 with those blue titles.

Two recent acquisitions - chrome beauties, and the 1:1 actual planes probably never looked this good. Polished metal is the more realistic finish, but damn, there's something artsy and appealing about a 1/400 diecast model decked out in chrome. The models: GJEAL282C Eastern Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, N391EA; and GJEAL113C Eastern Airlines B 727-200. N8866E. The Wings of Man, Doug

I also prefer the chrome, on Eastern. They just look fantastic in that finish.

Qatar 787-8 by Gemini, along with two other Gemini 787-8s and one JCW 787-8 ANA.

A quick comparison between the Gemini and Phoenix version. Gemini left, Phoenix right.

Major difference between the two is Gemini has "Qatar" written on the bottom, the panel above the nose colored on Phoenix and the Phoenix has a bump/dome moulded onto the top which the Gemini lacks.

Color is very slightly different and I am not sure what is more accurate. Both look fairly good.

Unfortunately Gemini no longer uses this mould anymore and uses a cradle for the wings.

Picked up a couple Aeroclassics 767-200's, with the new-style rolling gear. I was unaware any of the initial releases (American, TWA, Delta) got rolling gear. But, found these two!

Didn't know they made the re-made the original batch with the new gear. What retailer did you happen to get these from? Would be interested in maybe picking these up for my collection.

MEA Twin Set + GSE, B.747-2B4BSF (OD-AGJ) & B.707-347C (OD-AGV). This has been very elusive, very lucky to find it right here in the UK as well. The seller on ebay happens to be a DAC user so if you're reading this, thanks again Mike, much appreciated! Such a stunning pair of models and the GSE is pretty awesome, too.

Thanks Doug. Again patience paid off. I am still in awe as to the quality of this set, especially the GSE

That MEA set looks great! So glad every time you get one of these precious AC / BB 747's, I know how much you enjoy them! The MEA set is a prized part of my collection.

Thanks Jim, I really do and I know these models mean the same to you as well, a major milestone is reached every time one of these are found. Had some luck yesterday at the LHR Fair where I was able to swap a spare model for a PIA o/c 742, another holy grail!

I asked Andrew that some time ago and apparently they didn't sell well, as many people didn't want both models and didn't want to pay the high price for two models and GSE. They sold much better as separate items. Some of the models in the twinsets were boxed and sold separately - BEA Comet 4B and Viscount for example, but of course without GSE.

I see. But I'm sure there are potential combinations out there that would be in high demand. But then again, just sell them separately and people will buy what they want, I guess. Seemed to me like a good idea to keep this hobby interesting.

Another great idea was Dragon Wings' combo of USAF tanker/cargo aircraft paired with a fighter jet.
