I never saw this one in the Valentines livery which I think was back in '95 ? I did however see her many times without the love hearts and cupids at Prestwick in the early 2000's whilst the 732 fleet was still operational.

And I for one would love a model of that since I flew a couple in 2002 from Dublin to Prestwick and back. Wish I'd captured the registrations...

I only flew on their 732 once just to bag a 732 flight just before they left the fleet. It was EI-CJG on both legs of Prestwick-Shannon-Prestwick, and as I have mentioned before it was the exact same airframe as my only other ever 732 flight, some 21 years earlier when said aircraft was Britannia's then new G-BGYK.

Been on plenty of their 732s and even more of their 738s. A real challenge would be to get in their 737

Just ordered FY 9M-FIC by JCW so no picture at a moment.

Since they released this good-looking model, I think it is good that they also release MASwings. *Hoping that others will agree with my idea*

edit: I saw this airplane (MASwings) while on trip in Malaysia and it is a very good-looking one...

Britannia 767-304ER.

Aeroclassics, came out in 2005. So long sold out. Like hens teeth, they didnt make many (480 units). I have seen 1 on ebay usa in the past 9 months and it went for $100+. I got mine from a member on another forum.

I recommend setting up an ebay alert and checking daily. As with any rare model one will show up one day. Just be patient and ready to move quick when you do see one.

I just hope they release the 757 in the same livery.

Hey nice to see you got one too, I guess that makes two of us! I even got me the Aviation 1:200 B757 Britannia some years back!

Maybe one day I'll post some pictures but for now I'm to stupid to work with a camera..

I agree with you, I am waiting for those Avianca (scale 1:400) you mentioned: A320 w/sharklets, ATR-72-600, and I would add: A321 & Fokker 50 (all new livery)! Hopefully we will see them soon. Cheers!

I tried posting pictures but for some reason they wouldn't show properly, anyways here's my newest additions, Aeroclassics Azul A350, Gemini Vietnam Airlines A350, and Phoenix Malaysia A380 in the fantasy hibiscus livery.

Great additions, Canopy. Eastern is a big part of my 70s-to-the-present history collection. I have the Aeroclassics DC-9-50, DC-10, and DC-8 stretch. I have other Eastern models by Jet-X, Dragon, and Gemini.

Here's a recent acquisition: Big Bird Mk. 1 Lufthansa 747-230B. Reg D-ABYQ, named Bremen. One of Johan Chan's 'sample' Big Bird 747 models from E-Bay. He lists them as used and possibly not in new condition, so that's truth in advertising, and you know the risk you're taking. I decided to try one.

The only flaw on this example is *very slight* bubbling underneath paint in two places, one on each wing. The model was made in 2005, so unless I'm wrong, if that was going to get worse, it would have already. There are no returns, and I'd keep this one anyway. Still, I prefer models in new condition, so I'll think about whether I buy another of those.

Jim

Great model, I got mine at the time of release. I've never figured why there haven't been any further Britannia releases in this scheme ? The 762 being a prime example, Britannia were the first operator of the type in Europe back in early 1984.

I have to say it looks better in person than it did on the retailers page. She also came in hobbled with a loose wing but a little bit of Elmer's took care of that.

Thanks! I do have a soft spot for Eastern.

It is heartbreaking when you know that there's some sort of flaw, but that LH looks really nice.

Nice finds, all. This just arrived tonight from a Jetway collection sale - a Gemini 767-300. Not rare, or expensive - but gosh I love it! What an awesome scheme and model! It's like I'm back at my aunt's house in Northern Kentucky as a young teen, lazing in my cousin's pool and watching and endless parade of widgets landing at Cincinnati.

Now I'm old, Cincinnati is nearly abandoned by Delta (except regional the last time I was there) - but this plane takes me back. I've decided I'm in love with 767-300s!

Terrific acquisition, Steve! The 767 is my favorite plane to fly long distances on. The 2-3-2 seating all feels like elbow room. Both of the 767's I've flown on--a USAir 90's colors in 1993 and an Air Canada toothpaste-colors in 2008--are -200's.

I was a student at Miami of Ohio University near Cincinnati in the late 80's when Delta was just starting to build up. I remember the Terminal 3 dog-leg being built, and then extended, while I was at Miami. But Delta didn't start CVG-ROC until after I graduated. So my flights home were all connections on other carriers--from the old 50's Terminal 1!

Here are my acquisitions from that same Jetway sale, all Rochester-related:

Gemini Northwest DC-9-30 in the modified Orient thermometer colors. I loved this scheme. I flew on a -50 in it on ROC-DTW once.

Gemini People Express 737-200. Rochester's original low-fare liberator! I flew them to NYC once.

Finally, a NW Airlink ARJ. ROC saw lots of these in the 90's and 00's.

A couple more arrivals, from E-Bay, both for my 80's collection.

Aeroclassics Pakistan A300 in the colorful 80's scheme. I haven't found the AC DC-10 or 747 at a reasonable price yet.

The smallest member of my collection, which arrived in the same shipment: A Gemini Henson / Piedmont Regional Dash 8-100. I have five or six Gemini commuter aircraft, and I am happy with all of them.

The missing front gears are packed safely in a small plastic bag together with the model. The Delta is from ebay.

Big Bird/Aeroclassics 747's (and others) were shipped for a while with the nose gear detached and sealed in a bag for installation by the user. This followed a period of complaints about snapped off gear during the shipping process.

She looks great Mr. Fungus!

Now I'm no fan of the B747 (I will get some heat for this!)
But she looks pretty with this livery! Now I'm tempted to make this the first 747 in my collection.

I also got the DW United 720 from the same seller. Marks on the tin box didn't bother me either. Can't see anyone else making a United 720.

My latest 1:400 arrival, GJ BA A320 with sharklets. Not overly impressed if I'm honest. Yes, the antennae are a nice (if oversized) addition and the nosegear wheels move up and down as if on oleos but those are not much compensation when they print the window line too high. In fact it's not just too high, it's curved, particularly on the left hand side. It's as if they've curved it round the wing seam so as to fit in the British Airways titles and the barely visible crest.

Window and cheatlines quite often get printed too high. Sometimes it's not too obvious but it's the first thing that hit me with this model.

This is what you get when some genius decides to produce molds which have these wings attached to the fairing-and-all. I've never liked that JC wings mold. Never will.

Hi all, my first time here and I've been collecting commercial model aircraft for quite some time, mainly from Phoenix in 1:400 scale. Here's my humble collection.

Only the 787-8 (N787BA) is 1:200 from Phoenix, the MAS B772ER (9M-MRD) is from Dragon Wings.
