Another new arrival: Gemini Alaska E175 in the Honoring Those Who Serve livery.
It was released last year, bought it off of a restock. Unfortunately it did arrive with some defects (mainly a detached wing and a crooked engine), thankfully I was able to repair most of them and it looks good on my airport now.

I’d given hunting down older models a break recently due to the financial pressure of all the new releases happening at the moment, however I came across this little gem on ebay with no takers so I picked it up at a fair price. It joins partner model D-ABIU minus the cargo door, both released in 2005. It’s a real beauty.

Aeroclassics Lufthansa B.727-130SCD D-ABIX, 1970’s c/s, released 2005:

Today I received my first purchase from Waffle Collectibles. Lufthansa A380-841 D-AIMF from Phoenix Models. I flew on this one in August 26th 2017 FRA to HKG. Was supposed to be a normal flight but we landed in Hong Kong in a Typhoon. No other flights landed or departed since everything was cancelled. Inflight service stopped one and a half hour before landing. The approach was a bit bumpy and the landing was incredible. The captain landed this beast safely and without even a tendency of a single bounce. Felt like he landed on all wheels at same time. Just like "pang" on to the ground.

Unfortunately that is not the case... mine also has a bent nose gear. While not major enough for me to request a replacement it is there.

Speaking of which.....what I posted in the Gemini April thread:

My Gemini April order arrived today. I got an American CRJ-900 and a New York Air MD-80.

For the second month in a row, the CRJ-900 maingear were glued in backwards. For a company that allegedly does not use glue, these gear are glued in good and tight. I won't be able to jiggle them out to reorient them.

GEMINI TEACH YOUR FRIGGING EMPLOYEES HOW TO GLUE IN CRJ-900 MAINGEAR IN THE CORRECT ORIENTATION!!!!

I'll be sending this model back. GET THIS PROBLEM (LITERALLY) STRAIGHTENED OUT!

OK Harvey, here's the Mad Dog. The starboard stab is angled somewhat upward, but I'll try to fix that. Really nice model. Beware--the nosegear is an Aeroclassics-style rolling gear with two tires and a little pin. They popped out almost immedately, but stuff on the table caught them. So be gentle setting it down!

Thanks Jim! Looks pretty nice! So is this a new thing for GJ to use the AeroClassics style nose landing gear? It's been a long time since I had an MD-80 by GJ, but can't remember if the nose landing gear was larger about five years ago. Great pics as always!

JC WINGS ANA A380 'TURTLE' JA381A. got this in a collection lot for just £35, as it stated a wing was off and paint damage. but couldn't see any from pics. so after fixing wing i couldn't see any damage. was going to sell it, but after seeing it decided to keep it. i presume this is JC's first release??? as second isn't out yet. may pick up the other 2. but maybe PHX as £16 each cheaper!!

Also after over 250 + Gemini models, this is my first "Gemini Kitz". Both wings detached when I removed it from the cradle... Then after I got those glued back in place, the entire nose gear strut detached when I picked it up. I'm hoping that I put it back in the correct way.... we shall see.

Yes, it is. Luckily, there was no damage to the paint or anything, and it was an easy fix. Not bad overall though...that's the first problem I've had like that with Gemini after more than 250 purchases.

I received my two Delta CRJ-900s recently with the asinine assembly errors, of course. Tried my best to do a little gear and stab surgery. Here's the results (used the US CR9 as a reference):

I grabbed more Aeroclassics this month than usual, picking up most of the AA heritage liveries (already have the GJ Vistajet) and the 2 Faucett DC-8s. Still slightly irked that the US A321 and America West A319 are missing the wingtip fence logos but they are otherwise great models. I love Santa Isabel with the orange engine accents.

Those are all nice models.
I was really on the fence about getting the AA heritage A319's, since I already have them all with US Airways titles... I listened to my wallet and passed on them... Hopefully I made the right call.

A mix of old and new. GJ L1011 and 767, JC 767, NG 737 (thankfully before they stopped selling them).

I still need a 727 in the widget livery though

A couple of recent acquisitions, Air France Cargo 707 by Aeroclassics and Aeroclassics/400 Scale Hangar Club 727-100 of American TranscAir (ATA) during its three month lease period to British Airways, circa mid 80's.

Also just in, this Sovereign Models Olympic Airways A340-300, which IIRC utilises the Gemini Jets mould ? It was going cheap on eBay, owing to some light paint cracking on the roof (barely visible). But seeing as the last time I saw this aircraft for real, it was lying stored and abandoned on a baking hot ramp in Athens, it adds a bit of perverse realism. Nice to have all the same.

Here is another recent golden oldie addition, adding to the Eastern Bloc classics. I found this Aeroclassics OK CSA Czech Airlines TU-154 for a reasonable price from a fellow collector on Facebook. Released back in 2004, it goes very nicely with the few others I already have.

Another recent arrival is the JC Wings Singapore Airlines B.747-212B in classic 1970’s delivery c/s. 9V-SIA was the first 747 for the new airline in 1973, and was also the first to be sold from the fleet in 1979…it carries the “California Here We Come April 1979” slogan which sets this model to her final year with the airline. It is on the good old BB400 mould and the detailing is very sharp, colours are good and match the earlier 2005 Aeroclassics releases very well. The top edges of the H-stabs are painted white on -SIA. All in all, a decent classic 747 and well worth getting.

Nice catch with that Southwest!
I got extremely lucky with N564PE and probably got the last 'new model in retailer stock' in the world. Amazing how many rare models you can find at these lessor known retailers.
Did you get lucky, or did you have to go to war on eBay?
