actually bought a few 1/400s myself recently. not collected 400 scale for over 10 years! most main space is taken up by my military collection. and not got room for a 200 collection.

first 2. NG MODELS B.A LANDOR L1011 + EASTERN 757.

Juan Tripp never saw an airliner he didn't want to buy, and this one would have been irresistible. I wanted it too (in 1/400) and couldn't resist either. Magic Model N911PA, Clipper America. Pretty smart model with chrome belly, but don't look at the detail at the rear of the engine nacelles... Later, Doug

Interesting model. I wonder if Tripp would have purchased any. Reminiscent of the Stratocruiser--double decker of its day.

I really think he would have jumped on this plane - back in Pan American World Airway's day, tight regulation and a special treatment always gave him a leg up on the competition. In regards to the A380 - it's kinda sad to see Airbus take such a beating on this design. Wonderful airplane, bad timing, and Boeing's point-to-point idea was dead on, but they sure have tripped over their crank more recently. Doug

Very very nice - got this one myself about a year ago. A superb Gemini release from 2005 vintage.

agreed. great release. but will say if we go into lockdown or self isolate for 2 weeks, most of these will go straight back out the door!! as will need the money.

Hope you won’t have to be doing that mate. I’m really hoping that the measures announced by UK government today will see financial support/relief being given as a result of any lockdown. This is becoming something of epic proportions, there is going to have to be support for people & the economy through this crazy time.

Two recent eBay 'wins' of Star Alliance/code sharing members with vastly different liveries at Washington Dulles. Dragon Wings 55505 Lufthansa 747-400, and Jet-X JXM123 United battleship 777-200. $31. for the 747, $10 for the 777, and this is one of the models I sold along time ago, and bought again... Us retired guys have nothing better to do than shop on eBay, and I am always amazed at the price spread for the same model. Doug

Also, I'm seeing things in the pic of the 777 I hadn't noticed before, and that's the crack running forward under the starboard horizontal stabilizer, and another, just above the red stripe at the nose - I see more detail in the pix than I might... Love my Dragon Wings and Jet-X models, but like all others, they have not escaped zinc rot now and then. D.

A couple good old Dragon Wings! I still remember when a Battleship UA 777 was the latest and greatest thing and extra amazing to see at the airport. One of my first handful of models from 2006 when I started this madness is my GJ UA 777 in same livery, and I still have it! Too bad about the cracks. Some things are just better left to be seen with no zoom capabilities!

You aren't kidding about wandering the halls of eBay and coming upon stuff you had a long time ago! I just happen to be watching a Dragon Wings model now that I sold a long time ago and for some reason regained interest in. I don't plan on spending a lot of money on it, but we'll see if I'm lucky.

Picked up a couple of the recent Aeroclassics United 737-200. The colors are slightly off from the previous 737-200, but not terribly so.

Overall, excellent execution on it. Really happy with the series lineup; 737-200 Basic, 737-200 Advanced, 737-300.

Looking good, Matt. Already had one delivered back home in London, but seeing as I won’t be there for a while, I’ve ordered another one from Aeroclassics Direct while I’m in Oz.

Lots of great models and photos! Barison82, I wish I got photos as good as yours! You show off the detail well.

Folks, please help me out on this one. One of my criteria is 1960s to about 1990 manufacturer house liveries. Not long ago I landed this Aviation 400 737 in a Boeing house livery.

I found this Flickr photo, which is dated July 1977 ("7-77"). It shows the livery and the registration Aviation 400 used (N7560V). It lists the 737 as a -200. Yet DiMA says it's a fake registration and "1960's" house colors. The 1960's livery was different.

Here's the model:

400 Aviation 737-200 N7560V Boeing House Colors Rear Angle

Here's the photo of the apparent real thing:

Thanks Jim, although your own pics aren't at all bad and I'm not doing that much, just using an iphone. Some of the other recent posters here are using way more serious kit than I am, getting in some quality detailed shots, more than mine I think! But, I'll still take the compliment

Hope you've been keeping well & staying safe!

NG arrivals are always a happy day!

I still pick up BigBird 400 and Aeroclassics 747's where they can be found for workable prices (and they can be, just be patient).

Nice additions guys. My NG United -500 isn’t too far away now hopefully, it’s looking good 😊👍 Jim, nice catch on that ANA 747, although I could have sworn that you already had that one - I’ve seen it in your collection photos over the years? It’s the polished belly version which was released in 2005, with revised packaging. The other 2 versions had silver bellies and came out in 2003, in different style boxes.

Barison82--good catch. Yes, I already have JA8136. I have bought some second copies of models, and this is one. And I love the ANA Mohican livery.

Haha no worries - I can understand that. Have done the same thing myself with certain models. This is one bird that is very hard to find... If you ever consider letting go of one in the future, please PM me! I have been trying to find a decent copy of JA8136 myself for ages and ages. I had one but it had several paint flaws, some of which I fixed up, but it also had some other areas of damage unfortunately ✈️😮👍

Is everyone seeing huge photobucket watermarks over my pics above ? I see them on my PC but not my Android ? Apparently it's their latest ransom game to make us users on already paid for accounts cough up more money !

Anyhow... a nice addition today in the form of the JC Wings (Gemini Jets) Boeing 747-400 of Korean Airlines. I'm chasing 744's again, now that the real thing appears to be accelerating up the endangered species list faster than planned. I'm mot sure if Korean have finally retired their's or not, this particular frame (HL7402) has certainly been active in 2020. The box has a more deluxe feel than normal and it's bigger than a regular GJ style 744 box. You also get a credit card sized plastic information card.

Big Al, yes your previously uploaded pics have that annoying opaque banner across them. Your latest ones don’t, though.

Nice additions!

Been on a United kick recently, it seems, since my last post in this thread was the United 737-200/Adv released a month or two back.

Recently picked up DC10-10 N1833U off ebay. DC10-30 N1854U sits behind. Some of Aeroclassics finest work, ever done. Though, I wish the DC10-10 wingspan was a tad smaller, not just matching the DC10-30 wingspan.

Nice pair of Saul Bass Tens, Transpac. My United 732 arrived safely a few weeks back, I tracked it's journey to Oz on Flightradar24 and it was flown here on a United 787!

Some other recent additions that I've picked up Down Under:

Aeroclassics Air Niugini A300B4-203 P2-ANG, 1980s c/s, released 2007:

Aeroclassics TAA A300B4-203 VH-TAA, 1980s delivery c/s, released 2007:

Aeroclassics TAA B.727-276 VH-TBJ, 1980's c/s, released 2013:

Nice acquisitions barison82 and Transpac!

I've been after that AC Air Niugini A300 for some time. Patience has landed me a workable price on other models. I'm still waiting on that one.

I've wanted a representative of Wizz Air in my collection, and our own dennypayne listed this one on EBay. Love their livery, another carrier who actually puts color in the air.

Two new acquisitions:
1.) AeroClassics ACN9891Z Lufthansa Curtis C-47 Commando N9891Z. I let this art deco masterpiece get away at the initial offering and just picked it up on eBay for double the price. And so it goes...

2.) Gemini Jets GJCOA664 Continental Airlines B 787-8 N787CO (‘Fantasy’ - never delivered to Continental) - stunning mould and livery detailing, even with a bogus registration and gray nacelles - they should have been white as were all 787s - something about a special low drag paint that was mandatory. All 25 original Continental 787 orders carried over to United with the merger on 30 November 2011.

Keep 'em flying, Doug

Nice additions, and Jim, I’m sure you’ll land that Air Niugini at a decent price eventually!

the second of my nasa 747 shuttles has arrived with COLUMBIA CHROME on top! man the shine on this!

I have 3 more coming. all ENTERPRISE MODELS. 55629, 55629 special version, and 55409. there are 5 enterprise versions in all. sadly no ATLANTIS.

there are 8 of these in DB. But I have found a 9th. code 56183 should be 2 versions. polished + chrome. but only 1 in DB. even though it says 1 in set of 2. but no 2nd pic. and there maybe a 10th. I have found 2 different fronted box versions of the white DISCOVERY. only 1 in DB.

as I have furloughed by firm, I have decided to sell most of models above (on ebay atm) apart from both GALAXY C5s. and just concentrate on collecting these.

Thought maybe we could get a glimpse of you in that mirror of a 747! Very nice model set!

Sorry to hear about your furlough. Hopefully your return will be soon.

thanks Harvey. I am a delivery driver for a food firm. they lost 75% of their trade overnight when pubs etc shut. so only retail and now home deliveries keeping them going. but enough trade for only 2 drivers out of 3. but I wasn't too bothered in a way. at 62, glad of the rest!!!!! and not getting up at 4.45 am!!! I can stay in bed till 10 am if I wanted. plus in last 2 weeks we have re-done bathroom and loo. wife is off 12 weeks as she has asthma. but she gets full pay! so we are a lot better off than some.

luckily before lockdown I was able to complete my phantom + v bomber collection and finally get them on display in new cabinet. sticking to mostly BRITISH SUBJECTS!!
