Yeah, but the chances of getting anything similar from anyone else?
And I do like the AC DC-8 mould.

That said, the brown looks close. The red is too red. The blue does look off.
Of course, I haven't' seen the real deal in about 35 years, so...

The blue is ok, the brown is ok but on the wrong tail number, and there is no red but rather a terra cotta. see my separate thread. A couple of years ago I commissioned a poster that was based on actual research into pantone colors. Searching for braniff ultra colors will bring it up I wish aeroclassics had asked or at least used the poster. Shoty research on their part.

That is an insanely good bunch of models and my only complaint is that there are far too many to buy, and they do tend to sell out quite quickly. Ideally I'd like to have got 13 of them but I have had to settle for 5. Hopefully some of them will still be about in the coming months and AC will slow down on producing such great models!

Woah that is miles away from the colour they have done. I just got the chocolate and blue I'm glad to say.

The Ultra Blue is on order. Never the brown! Almost every Braniff Ultra I flew on (mostly 727s) was brown and we called them, "flying turds" not just because of the color, but the lousy flight attendant service.

Quebecair F-27, CF-QBL is also on order. From an airline I first fell in love with in 1958. QBL crashed in 1979 with almost total loss of life.

I dunno, at first that definitely looks like white and gold...but after taking a closer look I can see how one might interpret the white as being blue.

Still no Air North. And Aeroclassics' poor research was why I didn't buy the Canadian North models from the previous month. They got the colours wrong there too.

I think my bank account will be safe this month. And it looks like they fixed the issue with their 737 (the hump over the cockpit on the Transat 738)

I am still really holding out for a Canadian North 733. Anything else from Northern Canada would be great too

Wonderful set of real classics. Nice to see the KLM Viscount in its delivery scheme, but the tail markings don't appear to have printed horizontally? Hope the other KLM Viscount schemes will follow, as I need the second scheme with diagonal blue tail stripes.

But what's with that Sterling Caravelle? This model defies all logic as once again here we are with the Caravelle III/6 mould masquerading as a Caravelle 10B (OT-STE). Why??? Sterling Airways also operated 13 Caravelle VIRs in the same scheme. Wipe off the red 'Super Caravelle' red engine stripe and change the reg to an OY-SA. one and it would be accurate, apart from the spine running down the roof. Sterling bought up United's Caravelle IVR fleet that didn't have the spine, so this model is a real mish-mash.

Did not all/most Alitalia ships have names ?
If so, what are DC-7s I-DUVA and I-DUVB christened ?
For that matter, what about last month's DC-6s I-DIMO and I-DIMS ?

Did any of the DC-props live to see the "green A" ala the Caravelles ?

Hi Ted,
Alitalia does not appear to have named any of its props and did not start naming their aircraft until they received their DC-8s and Caravelles.
None of the DC-props survived to see the later "green A" scheme and in fact DC-6B, I-DIMS, is believed to be the only Alitalia DC-6B to be painted with the tricolored tail, but all the DC-7Cs received this.

The Viasa A300 is an absolute must have, and mine is on its way to me already.

The Sterling Caravelle was tempting until I read Adrians comments, indeed a mish mash, when something nearer to the 1:1 could have been produced.
If the registration was correct and Super Caravelle was removed, I could live with the dorsal spine.
Hope AK will listen and maybe do a re-run ?

Adrian, Thank You.

I took it for a given that the AZ props were named.
Across the Ionian, Olympic was adamant about naming their ships; the only exception being a few of the leased 733s (and an occasional A300) before wrapping up business...
Of course, one of those anonymous was SX-BLA, the little gem ACLX released a few months ago.

Very, very, expensive set of releases this month, Thank You too, Andrew............

In total agreement with all on Viasa !!!

Would the Super Caravelle require a completely new mould, or, can modifications be made economically?
Quite a few liveries eagerly await such a development.

Love the Viasa!

Regarding the Latin Classics line, I missed out on these releases way back in Oct, 2008 when I was not aware that this hobby existed.

I would love it if these two Aeroclassics 737-200's were re-released!

Would rather see a Viasa DC-10 in that livery or similar. I'm a DC-10 guy. Why hasn't Aeroclassics been releasing, or re-releasing, more DC-10's along with all those A300's? The Viasa DC-10's released in 2009 are long sold out and scarce on E-Bay. There are any number of AC DC-10's that are rare on E-Bay and need re-releasing, like United Blue-star, Air New Zealand, Delta, JAT, and United Bass small titles. And do a British Caledonian in the pre-buyout blue/yellow cheatline livery!

A new mould with today's standards would be the way to go IMO. It's very frustrating to see nice liveries released on a wrong mould (like the UTA and LTU).

Agree about the NZ and JAT but to be fair to AC the UA, DL models were only released last year.

If I remember right, AC only released UA Battleship last year, in pax and cargo variants. AC re-released American, of which I bought both the -10 and the -30 , but I don't think they re-released Delta. I'm thinking of the United blue-star or stars-bars livery, which is an absolute beauty. It was released in 2013, but there generally isn't one to be had except from VirginFans with his outrageous prices, but free shipping

Sh*t was it really 2013 - time flies! They did the Delta at about the same time. Waffle had had the United for sale until quite recently but I see he doesn't anymore.

They did, but there don't seem to be many out there, and Gemini's DC-10's aren't nearly as good as Aeroclassics.' AC has done many DC-10s that are also made by other manufacturers. I'll admit to not knowing who went first, but there are many duplicates. For example, Dragon made UA blue-star and Bass, Northwest Orient thermometer, AA, Western, FedEx, and Varig. Apollo made BA Landor, Gemini made National and Eastern, Aviation 400 made Sabena, someone did Swissair 80's, JC made Alitalia.

Nice releases. Love the Emery DC-8-60F, but would love to see Aeroclassics release Emery in their red livery for the B727-100 and DC-8-60/70F. Pretty please.

Considering AK slags off other manufactuers if something isn't done right, it is hypocritical that he produces more than one Caravelle on the Series III mould disguised as a Series 10. Some of the AC Caravelles have been IVN/R variants which should have had enlarged cockpit windows printed instead of the original 'Comet-style' windscreen of the series III, but even that hasn't been changed on any of the Caravelles.
I could slightly understand the thinking behind this, if there were no Caravelle IIIs or even IVN/Rs to do, but we still haven't got some really no-brainers like
SAS with the later 'SCANDINAVIAN' titles, Air Algerie (3 schemes), Kingdon of Libya & Libyan Arab Airlines with the lovely gold cheatline, Air Liban or the Iberia delivery scheme with 'lightning flash cheatline'...and those are just for starters!
