It's nice to see cool products come out for non-modelers.

I'm sure many would consider buying a bigger square version so they can have multiple planes on display.
A plane landing and another in the taxi lane.

I am sure JC will expand the range.

Oh where will I get the money from and then the SPACE to display them (in the dark naturally).

I predict financial ruin in my future.

Have to agree that $100-120 is out of my price range as well for this. Maybe like $50-60 for me personally as it is only used to display one model.

I thought the same. They need to get this down to a $50-60 price point.

Nice concept! However, i do feel the runway markings and shoulders need a bit of work to improve overall realism.

Maybe a displaced threshold rather than a blast pad?

It would be even better if the runway designation were not pre-printed and decals were supplied so that the purchaser could make it whatever runway they want (for example, one of the runways at their local or favorite airport). In addition, this base could never represent any airport in the US, as the FAA disallows the use of leading zeros. In the US, this would be Runway 7R.

It's a good idea but...

I think they need to work on the look. It seems far too plasticky to pass as a realistic surface for a runway. The markings seem incomplete to me and it could do with some oil/tyre staining too.

I like the idea of having stickers to create your own runway designator.

Its also a huge waste of space considering the size of that A350 inside it. Personally I'd want it to be smaller which might also enable them to lower the cost a bit. They could easily shorten it.

$100+ isn't going to work for 95% of collectors, especially in 1/400.

For those clamoring for a 1/200 version please keep in mind just how big that would be and figure $200+ retail. Not going to happen. However, a 1/200 version would make for a fun modelling/electrical project! The base would be doable with average skills, but no so much the plastic cover.

Yes I don't see this working out well except perhaps for the collector that has a handful of models or wants to display one in an office environment or something. With 500+ models now, I would not know where to put it to be honest.

I just realized that there are many similarities with the products of a Japanse company called deltagroove. (Delta-groove.com)
The link to the store offers a good oversight of their products.

Hmm. Maybe an integrated stand with variable height would be a good addition to this? Perhaps freely pivoting as well, so collectors can display their models either taking off or landing with various degrees of pitch/roll. Maybe make it out of clear plastic so it doesn't look too conspicuous.

My two cents: $100-$120 USD is a LOT for a display case that's designed to host ONE model.

Come up with something that rivals IKEA's Detolf cabinet, which is priced $40-$50 LESS and holds MULTIPLE models, 1:400 or 1:200.

I thought this was just a concept, but it is available for purchase at the usual places. I think I will pass and rather get 3 new aircraft for the same price.

I see the price is confirmed to be $100. I think for that money I will try to make my own and buy a cheap display case. It might not blink, but I think I could live with that for probably $80 less.
