I prefer the 1:200 models. I think that we would like to see American Eagle E170 replace US AIRWAYS EXPRESS

QANTAS and THAI look great, but phoenix had already made them

Well it is variety Gemini style. Since we got Delta and US Airways this month, I would predict American Airlines and United for December and once more Delta and US Airways in January next year. It's almost as exciting as watching a few British seniors play bowls.

I still don't know if they have fixed up the nose of the MD80 mould or not. Can someone please post some decent photos of the last AA release?

Incidentally the DL plane is in the current scheme which means I have a 100% disinterest in this month's releases. Just as well considering what Aeroclassics is about to announce!

Yep, more ERJs would be excellent and break this monotonous. Having a KLM city hopper in the latest livery or a LOT ERJ would have been great.

C'mon Gemini, Qantas run more than just 747s and A380s...

Jeez and I thought the Phoenix releases for this month were a bit bland! (Well they are, but you get the idea!)

A Qantas 767-336 and 737-400 in the standard livery would both be welcomed!

I guess it will be nice to have the US Airways E170 in their current colours but that list disappoints on a lot of levels.

My only interest are that and the FedEx 777

Woohoo.. I still cant believe it.. Delta MD-88 in current colour.
This has been a dream come true.
Now if only Delta ERJ-145 in current colour gets made.. It would be a Christmas dream come true.
Oh.. And Qantas B737-400? Where is it? grrrr.....

I'm curious - the explanation for the constant re-releases from Gemini has been "Corporate Sales" - for who? As far as I know - United doesn't have a web store - maybe Delta does. Gemini used to release at least a couple retros or interesting birds mixed in - now it feels like every month, it's 744, A330, 777 - anyone have a bit more clarity on the apparently new focus?

I'm soooo excited about that MD Delta. I've waited for yearsssss month after freaking month for some MD's from Gemini. I realize that they've been out for probably a year, but I haven't been following in around 4 years or so. I had an account on here years ago. Some I'm not technically a "newb"

I get a good fleet of the Dark Blue US Airways, then we get the AWA merger and I have to build up the "Swoosh" fleet. Now I have a huge swoosh collection, now it's time to build up the new American fleet.

I worked up a solid Blue Tulip United fleet, Delta Wavy Gravy fleet, I planned on building up Silver NWA. Wasn't a fan of American nor Continental and was more interested in Sta carriers. Now I'll focus on Delta's Circumsized Citgo fire widget and new American.

I want several of these nice little Delta MD's for Christmas to myself. Disappointed there aren't more new Americans. Especially the RJ's. I might budget myself for 5-7 planes. and I'll start building from there.

Woohoo MD88 Delta

Why Gemini jets is releasing again the FedEx 777-200F again ? If there is any difference from previous ones? Why not theups 767-300 with winglet instead. Always the same and the same every month.

I guess if I may over simplify...

Gemini = Managed by Americans for Americans
Phoenix = Managed by Asians for Asians

Which leaves Aeroclassics to reap the rewards and revenue for the rest of us who are not interested in the above.

It's a popular model with a lot of demand and always sells out so they rerelease it. That's why they rereleased the Air Canada 777-300 way back when with a new reg. they didn't continue because demand dropped of thanks to Phoenix's better quality models

Phoenix have more airlines licenses than Gemini
Hope to see UA 772 again and 738 of AR.
They could make 788 of AA, not of TG that Phoenix had already released it plus QF 744.
And I hate Fedex planes, really not necsery.

ohana is nice plane but the ATR looks very small!
I want to see IZ 753 and E195 sometime. Nothing for me from 1:400, The 1:400 of the Oct were better with nice releases like AC 788 that I very want

Agreed, Delta MD-80 very welcome indeed !
Photos of the 2nd AAL MD-80 would be essential @ some point as well, just to judge if the mould has been tweeked or twerked as the case may be...

I may be in the minority here, but I for one DO like the fact that GJ has been indulging in their 744s. The issue is that not enough Asian A/ls are being made in the GJ mould which has a better nose and engines from the offers currently manufactured (the pylon roots I can live with).
So,
Garuda Indonesia -- delivery scheme,
Thai International -- delivery (no foreign markings)
KLM -- delivery !!!
British Airways -- "World's Biggest Offer" Landor billboard
etc, etc, for starters are missing.

Then, REVIVE the 747-100, -200, -300 for zillions more as discussed previously.

HUGE PS:
Please correct DAC Database to recognize the generic MD-80 entry.
Anyone wishing to sub-type, may always get specific.
Thanks,
Ted

I didn't want to start a new thread, but would there be any chance Gemini Jets produces the new American livery for the MD-80? Obviously the word is American won't paint any in real life, but is there a possibility Gemini does it?

AA won't paint the S80 in the new livery since that pos is being retired, sooner raider than later thank goodness. So I doubt we'll see GJ release a nc AA S80

You must not fly them that much I'm going to miss the Mad Dog's 2-seat side quite a bit. The Boeings are cramped width-wise with 3 to a side, and while the new Airbuses are a little better in that regard, they have tortuous legroom if you're not in Main Cabin Extra.

But you're right, unless GJ does a fantasy release I doubt we'll see AA's new colors on the MD80.

Just pre-ordered 6 Delta MD-88s and 2 US Airways Express Embraer 170s. Been looking forward to the Delta MD-88 for a while now to fill in a very glaring hole in the DL fleet. I'd love to see GJ do the MD-88 in Widget, Interim, and Wavy Gravy colors, but I'd be surprised if we ever see anything else other than the Widget.

I have to say, GJ's new Embraer 170 mold is very nice. I just received the US Airways Express in old colors yesterday, and was quite impressed. The nose and cockpit window printing is a little wonky, but the other features are great. It's amazing how much more detailed the tampo printing and landing gear have gotten since the early days of 1:400. I really like the job they did with the 170's main gear. Very nicely done. Looking forward to the US Airways Express new colors release this month, and I hope they get around to doing Delta Connection new colors and United Express new colors. It'd be great to see them do US Airways and JetBlue with their 190 mold too. I will say that I think the 175 would have been better to go with than the 170 though, at least from a U.S. collector's point of view. The 170 had already been done by Herpa (though Herpa's mold isn't as good as GJ's), and the 175 offers a bit more variety in that Air Canada, American Eagle, Northwest Airlink, etc. could also have been done in addition to US Airways Express.

Indeed, I was quite pleased with it as well, especially since it fits my "flown in" segment of the collection.

According to my calculations, in 1:400 the 170 should be 2.94 inches long and the 175 should be 3.12 - less than a quarter inch difference. Is that even that discernable at this scale? Wingspan and height are the same, so I wouldn't be terribly put out if they used the same mould for both. Just a thought....

I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up being the case, now that you mention it, though I'd be a bit disappointed since I'd be able to tell, just as some of the other eagle-eyed collectors would. IIRC, didn't GJ do this with their 1:200 American Eagle ERJ-140? Regardless, given the size difference, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the collecting world, and it'd be great to see some 175 subjects. I've actually been wondering if AeroClassics might end up doing the same thing with their F-28-1000/3000 mold by rescaling the tampo printing to make the -2000/4000. It's currently used as a -1000, but it appears a bit too long to me as it doesn't have quite the stubby look that the actual -1000 has. It's sort of a hybrid between the -1000/3000 and -2000/4000. I have no idea what the wingspan on the mold conforms to between the -1000/2000 and -3000/4000, and since it's such a small difference in 1:400, I don't mind disregarding it. But if they can pull it off convincingly enough, I wouldn't mind adding an Empire, Horizon, Piedmont, and USAir -4000 to my collection

If Gemini are now "corporate hazarkack makers" who seem to think there's only money in high volume, will they soon do 737-800 and 737-700 in Southwest's new scheme? Gemini should be able to move plenty of those. And although I for one would prefer to see Aeroclassics do any aircraft out there, I realize brand new liveries aren't AC's usual market area. So I for one would consider a Gemini version; their 737 moulds are very good.

Guaranteed GJ will do Southwest new colors. You definitely don't need to worry about that. It's the stuff that isn't totally current that you have to wish for

Do we know if the MD-80s nose has been improved, or is it the same poor attempt from about a year ago? Any close 70s and side shots of the new nose??

Check out DiMA's database photos. It looks the same to me. The left side appears worse than the right as before.
