Unhappy AC imperfection - disappointing Azul A332

Last weekend first glance at Azul 332 -wow, but after being so entusiastic and happy to receive finaly my brandnew aeroclassics Azul 332 and set it into my Fortaleza diorama, I had time for short quick review.
UPDATE on Azul, will return my airplane, after I found out that it is full of little flaws! Again an Aeroclassics A330 srewed up. I just remember the Greenland, Seychelles, Mauritius and the worst Fiji, here another example. Who is doing the reviewa dn the QC, whoever did that, should search for a new job! My guess is that AC did the production before the actual livery came out of Airbus paint hall. I hope that GJ PX will upgrade it and will join my collection soon. The first picture from the AC AviancaA332 model is also not looking to good...always room for improvement - I hate for this high AC price the constant imperfection, sorry but I am upset !

I don't think it's really fair to call out 'no antenna' as a fault - AC's A330's have never had them, and there have been plenty of threads on here that indicate a lot of people (including Andrew, apparently) consider them superfluous in 1:400 - they are a constant source of QC problems, for one, and usually out of scale.

For me, non of those flaws would stop me from buying a model that was on my wish list. The worst is the incorrect website printing on the engine nacelle but even that is minor and would not stop me from buying it.

The engines might be repainted into Flyazul.com titles when international service begins

I can't picture Gemini releasing this anytime in the near future. These models were part of a airline order directly from Azul. I am happy with mine.

I agree. The other flaws are a matter of taste, but you couldn't have expected antennae on this model.

I've seen antenna done pretty well on larger aircraft in 1:400. but they are pretty crude on ATRs.

I'll make you more upset.. go f-ck yourself!!
This model was made according to the specs provided by the airline. If YOU are just campaigning here for your friends to make it with their antennaes and estimated colors, then your agenda is obvious, and I could care less what you think!!!

I'll vouch for Andrew on this also. The OP is pretty close with Phoenix and was the one who pushed them for antennas. I like the antennas, but in no way should that be used to post an "error" about a company that has never done antennas. When I order a burger from McDonalds I don't complain when they don't give me whopper. Know what you are buying before you buy it.

Andrew, your Emery 721 and DC8-61 twin pack suck! Wrong colors, wrong font, wrong paint on the engines. Amateur effort. I'll stick with my Schabak versions.

Y'know I have over 1700 Schabaks and some of the moulds are better than 1:400! Their 757 is better than Gemini's attempt

I understand that producing airplane models and trying to please everyone may be difficult. Even though there may be differences between the Azul 1:1 and the 1/400s nothing can be exact. When I received both of mine I was overly enthusiastic! When I saw the comparisons here I can understand there are some differences. When I don't look at the comparison pics and look at the 1/400s it doesn't bother me. I do believe that to be more realistic antennas should be included if the 1:1 has them.

Jeff, in this tiny scale, antennas are nothing more than a gimmick and an eyesore. They are all out of scale, and crude to say the least.
From a retailer's point of view (AeroClassics does support it's retailer's wishes) they are a nuisance, especially when they fall loose or break off.
Many complain about the movable rolling wheels. Antennas go even further over the top.

The OP has the absolute chutzpah to start such a thread, probably because he was told that Phoenix will make the model, and to campaign for them, however, as this was an airline order, with less than 20% going to the collector's market (all of which sold out immediately), and done to AZUL's specs, I really don't give a rat's azz what this OP has to say!
Over the years, I have posted mostly positive comments about Phoenix and their products, especially the 777, so if Izzieitamoron thinks he's earning bozo points by putting down AC, GJ, or JC, he's actually doing the opposite.

AK, I think Matchbox is releasing the Azul 332 on their new mould. K Mart exclusive of course.

Totally agree about the antennae, no need for them.

Many of the times the models with antennas that I order are missing one or two.

Most shipments we receive with antenna equiped models, we have none or only 1 or 2 models that have a missing antenna.
We do have some spare ones, so we add them ourselves (IF a model misses 1)

I do feel however, that they are a little out of scale in some occasions
But missing ones (in our situation) is almost 0%

You must be lucky then! My last two Phoenix purchases, one A350 and Air New Zealand A320, each had a missing antenna.. But I didnt care that much. Still happy to have these models.

Yup.

Maybe I should report a 'flaw' because my Phoenix 1:400 777 didn't come as a cutaway with seats, pilots, etc.

You said it!! As soon as I get my hands on my set, I'm going to help you point out just how wrong they are, so make em' soon!

I'll bet Andrew couldn't make a correct Midwest Express original colors DC9-30 either! (Got that Andrew? ....early colors)

Oh you and your Schabacks, Richard! I'll admit enjoying the ones I collected too. Of course you realize that you'll end up at 1700+ 1:400s as well, your brain just tells you you'll stop before that as a psychological defense mechanism.

Well, i guess we were not lucky as most models we ordered that are equipped with these antennas, do have them attached.
Probably you are just unlucky to receive your models this way

Default Re: AC imperfection - disappointing Azul A332

I was lucky enough to get an Azul "Brazilian flag" A330 from Eztoyz and must say I am delighted with it, has proved to be an expensive month as I also purchased the Air Afrique, Air Seychelles, Dan Air and Iran Air A300s (the latter is a masterpiece). Not picked up a Tunis Air as yet.

I have that -73 as well, but have always detested that livery as it is the Consolidated Freight livery with an Emery logo. I really wanna see the red-top livery:

I can die a happy man when these two are made!

Agreed. It needs to be the red top.

Over the years, I have posted mostly positive comments about Phoenix and their products, especially the 777, so if Izzieitamoron thinks he's earning bozo points by putting down AC, GJ, or JC, he's actually doing the opposite.
Isn't the OP also the same guy who recently criticised the new Phoenix A350 in pretty much the same tone as in this thread (including photos)? I wouldn't expect that from someone who's agenda is to only push Phoenix products.

No disrespect, but some people take criticism well, others not so.
