Default Gemini Jets September Release Teasers

As discussed in the 1:200 forum Gemini Jets have said on their facebook page:

'Not one....
Not two....
Not three.....

Are we talking about championship promises? Nope! What we are promising is four new moulds next month! The September Releases will be announced next week and there are twelve 1:400 releases, one GeminiMac release and seven 1:200 releases. Have a great rest of the week.'

They also say that the new moulds will NOT be A350s or 747-8s though those moulds are in the pipeline.

Obviously it is not said which new moulds (if any) are 1:400s though you'd have to expect some. Gemini also say:

'The new moulds cover our current fans, our military fans and our retro fans'

which is pretty much everyone isn't it, but does mean one of the new moulds is military - heads up DaPhantom

Incidentally I repeat this in the 1:400 forum for people who don't read the 1:200 side of things and for us 1:400 collectors to speculate.

It all sounds exciting but this is Gemini so I'm prepared to be underwhelmed. Personally I'd be happy for them to actually use the new moulds they've already got and don't use much like the CV-580 and MD80. Hell I'd even accept some ERJs (I don't collect em but they look nice). Sometimes I almost think that Gemini making new mould isn't good because it decreases the chance Aeroclassics will make it and Gemini will never use the mould properly! Then again that's a bit pessimistic even for me so bring it on Gemini - prove me wrong.

No kidding.

That CV580 mould had tons of possible applications - and the one they launched it on was possibly the single least popular they could have selected. Allegheny, Aspen, North Central, Northwest, Republic, Frontier, American Eagle. Why they picked FAA.... I'll *never* know. They probably even use the poor to nil sales of it as evidence that 'classics don't sell'.

As for the MD80... I'm hoping they're just tweaking the mould or something. If they already gave up on that - yikes. There's only about a dozen different models (at least...) that'd sell 2,000+.

I'm guessing a 1:400 E170/E175 will be one of the new molds. A picture of a 1:400 American Eagle E175 has been circulating for a few months, perhaps it is one of the September releases?

I think you're almost certainly correct with that.

An A300 would be a waste of time as the Aeroclassics mould is invincible and has been very well used by AC especially in the last month.

A Tristar would be awesome but definitely fits into the I hope not by Gemini area as there are so many models to make and GJ just aren't that kind of company anymore.

So my guess is 1 new 1:400 military mould, the 1:400 ERJ, a new 1:200 classic mould and one other.

A re-worked A310 ??? with GE AND PW engines ? How's about dem's possibilities ?

A re-worked B747-1/-2/-3 or -4 ? Though the early pre-PHX were not bad; a wing/pylon re-arrangement ?

Av 400 Tristar mould acquired from the Witty sale ?
Warp-speed procurement !
If so, please use the AV4 DC-10-30 main gear, their length would give aircraft a better (not fuel heavy) tarmac posture.
If not, I hope Andrew secures this one !

KC-135 ?? Not bad.

DC-5 ??? KLM knows...

Gemini only relatively recently reworked their 747 mould with rolling gears, wing aerials etc so I don't think there's any hope for you there and Witty only went under a few days ago. It takes months to line up a release so it won't be the Tristar.

I'd love Aeroclassics to get that mould and the 747 classic and do us proud. Gemini can stay well away from such holy grails.

Delta Airlines, I agree. It was a thought however, given the military possibilities.

Well then why not wait until Aeroclassics does them? Gemini's mould would never be as good and AC has already done the older liveries of all three of those.

Why, oh why would you want Gemini to create a new mould for that?

Yes!

The new molds could well be 1:200 scale. I'm guessing for 1:400 we'll get the KC-135 and the ERJ-175.

Does anybody know if they're planning to release hints? I usually enjoy those.

Agreed looks like it'll be 1:400 KC-135 and ERJ-175, a new 1:200 classic mould and one other.

I think GJ needs to clarify this. The statement is four NEW moulds, but does this mean that an existing mold has been modified to eliminate any seams or any other noticable irritant that the older version of said GJ model may of had? For example, before the 'new and improved' versions of the GJ 747 and 747SP came onto the market these models had a seam where the horizontal stabilizers attached to the fuselage. This is no longer the case, so would this have been or was it qualified as a new mold?

A C-133 would be awesome.. good suggestion, first time I've heard it.

Per GJ's fb page, looks like 3/4 new molds are in 1:200. Although I am a *little* bummed, my wallet is certainly relieved.

C'mon B6 ERJ190..

In their FB page it's stated that the moulds will be one1:400 and the rest 1:200. Look at the comments under that post.

So they do as of 20 hours ago. So we can go back to sleep then because it is likely the Military moulds is the 1:400. Gemini flatter to deceive once again.

The new GJ200 UA -500 release is nice but the 200's are just too big for my liking, you get 100% more model with only 10%(maybe) more detail.

Announced now gives the collectors more time to biitch and complain about not getting what they wanted, or whine about more of the same or I give up coz the printing isn't quite right, or gee darn they're not retro enough or gosh they aren't modern enough and so on goes the list.

Gemini says in the same comment thread, that "plenty" of new molds will be released in the "coming months". What do you think that means?

I expect the A350, and the CS100 to be some of those "plenty". What else could we expect?

Yep, I expect a Gemini Airbus A350 mould in due course, hopefully correcting the errors of the Phoenix version or it's another turkey.

I am very confident that at some point we will see a GJ A350 as JC-Wings are producing their own mould - so the likelihood is it will be shared between the two. Maybe GeminiJets will produce the full Qatar Airways livery after QR takes delivery of the 1st one later this year - (so long as GJ are authorised to make Qatar models). Thinking about it, for that reason it may well be JC who does that one - as they have made lots of other QR models lately

I'd really like to see a DC-9-10 or a -50, personally...
