lot of hazaraish drek as usual, but I will take MD-10, Lufthansas and UA CRJ.
Why they did PA 727 when aeroclassic's is pretyly available is beyond my logic.

This is the best batch of 1/400 from GJ this year, so far. I'm gonna get six of them. I'm a sucker for 753s....

Delta 739, 753, and United Express CRJ-700 for me. Might go back for either the ANZ 789 or Condor 753 if they're still available eventually.

I quite like the Pan Am 727. The Aeroclassics versions aren't easy to find and I am happy it isn't a billboard.

The CZ MD90 and ATR look great but don't fit my criteria.

If I had to choose, I'd go with the 739. I like the name given to this aircraft, 'Spirit of Seattle'. 757's with diff regs will be done again, this one's unique.

I am happy that they are really using that LH license, and PA too - lots of LH and PA models lately.

Fair enough. Let's see if you are right and GJ releases in the future:
  • a DC-10 in LH final colors
  • at least one of the CRJs. None exists except a JCW CRJ-200 in a special livery.
  • a Dash 8-400 in Regional livery
Probably the plans for the LH 737-300 were made many months ago, as there would apparently be little reason to release it so close to that of AC.

Still can't get an actual Thomas Cook liveried model, one of Europe's largest tour operators and charter fleet airlines. Oh well, nothing for me this month.

Well, it does have a cheat line. I guess beggars can't be choosers.

At least Gemini finally found their 727-200 mould after missing for what 5 or 6 years? A release two years in a row. A bona fide flood. Still can't understand why they don't use it more.

I'm Excited to see more of the 787-9. It looks great, and hopefully better than phoenix. Their wing look just doesn't seem right to me

Notice on ours the window line is printed lower and the tail logo is larger. I'm really really pleased with how this model came out.

OT: Was there ever a GJ 757-300 in the plain Condor yellow scheme? I've seen that not so great looking special scheme with all the drawings on it, but would like to see the Condor delivery colors on the 757-300.

Ahh you are right! The engine detail looks better as well! Not a fan of PHX engine fan blade detail.

The 'W' is printed far from the door as you compare the real aircraft.

Indeed, the font used on the GJ 787-9 for ANZ as well as the Phoenix version is incorrect when compared to the real jet as well, it may have been a late change from Air New Zealand.

Other than that, I'd say GJ have the window printing and the logo size correct, Phoenix seem to have the windows a bit highe up ad their logo on the tail seems a very silght bit smaller than the GJ version.

At least based on this pic of the real jet

If anyone bothered to check the database, they were all entered days ago! Oh well, I admit I forgot to start a thread on it, so it's probably my fault. Please Enjoy

Well Al, I do agree!! However if you get the opportunity to come down here and visit Manchester Airport, you will find that Condor 757-300s have more relevance to the UK than you would think. This Summer the airline (in conjunction with Thomas Cook UK) is now flying from MAN to selected destinations including Palma, Fuerteventura, and Kos. This is partly due to maintenance on the 757 fleet now taking place at Manchester!!

I do appreciate this means nothing to you if you don't see Condor 757s in Bonny Scotland though

I already have preordered the Air New Zealand, AirTran, both Deltas, FedEx, United CRJ, and US Airways. 7 models this month. Oh man, along with the 7 from last month… and the Phoenix and Herpa 764's… Ouch that was a 19 model order...

Nope no Condor ops here, but just along the road from my front door is GLA, one of the biggest and busiest Thomas Cook bases in the UK. Regular ops from their entire fleet, A330's and 753's included. Gemini did the pre-Thomas Cook 'JMC' DC-10 release, I'm surprised they still haven't done either a post JMC release or brand new livery release, the A320 would do just nicely.

Yes it is a mystery indeed!!

Thinking optimistically, I'm sure we will see more TCX models to come - though wether they will fill huge gaps in the old livery is questionable (now that we have the "sunny heart"). I guess AeroClassics may fill that void (minus the 757 of course)!!

Phoenix - TCX 757-200 & 300 ??

There are quite a few British charter airlines over the years who have failed to spark much interest amongst the manufacturers including Thomson and Thomas Cook, two quite large airlines if truth be told. I do remember a few years back a Thomas Cook 757 being announced by one of the manufacturers, can't remember which, but then it being hastily withdrawn. Perhaps some licensing issue prevented its release.

I'm up for more UK charter airlines being produced.

Monarch seems quite well represented and why not ? And when you look at some of the classic British charter lines there's a smattering of Dan Air, Court, and Britannia too. So I'm not really sure why the biggest of their current day incarnations are so slightly represented ?

Given the new Thomas Cook/Condor livery reveal this year, the perfect time is now.

I beg to disagree. Where's the defining Monarch original colours 757? Britannia is also rather poorly output - no Bristol Britannia or 737-200/757/767-200 in the classic 1980/90s scheme. These aircraft and liveries really defined the airlines for their glory years.

I can live without the modern colours myself. They are all just pale imitations of the UK's once glorious charter airline past now killed off by Ryanair and Easyjet.

A Dan Air 146 would be good too (plus Orion, Inter European etc etc etc)!

The Condor 753 and the DL 753 and 739 headed my way. Lovely!

Hey GJ - perhaps we could have the Icelandair B752 and 753wl versions and throw in the Air Nuigini 752wl while you're at it. thanks in advance.

To be fair, Al said 'a smattering', not a deluge! Monarch has done slightly better than the rest but a One-Eleven would not go amiss, along with the 1980s 757 and a 732. I'm sure we all agree, however, that there are plenty of UK charter subjects, both old and new, that could still be done. This being a GJ thread I would expect that particular manufacturer would be interested in the more modern subjects.

Yes indeed, a 'smattering' meaning a small non comprehensive amount and that would describe what we have so far.

The Monarch original engines and livery 757 would be great, they along with BA (as launch customer) were the first British charter airline to operate the type. Britannia were the European launch customer of the Boeing 762, another Gemini opportunity.

I can live without the modern colours myself. They are all just pale imitations of the UK's once glorious charter airline past now killed off by Ryanair and Easyjet.

A Dan Air 146 would be good too (plus Orion, Inter European etc etc etc)!
Yep, we could do with more Monarch and Britannia for sure and the types/schemes you mention would be welcome in my collection. I just find it slightly odd that the manufacturers have all given us a fair 'smattering' of Monarch (albeit some key releases missing) but have only paid lip service to the rest.

Coming back up to date, I'd like to see the new Thomas Cook/Condor livery applied to the Gemini 752/3 mould, the A330-200 mould and the A320/21 moulds. Thomson (Dreamliner livery) applied to the 752w mould, 763w mould and another 787-8 release with proper aircraft name painted on the nose.

Given that Gemini does a lot of current-livery stuff, could they please do a United 739? I haven't been able to find one in 1:400 yet. If they're doing Delta, hopefully they'll soon do United.
