Default JULY 2014 Gemini Jets HINTS

1. Currently this airline operates 13 of this type of Boeing airplane. You might think they have their heart set on you, but with 265 seats their heart is certainly not on your knees.

2. This model is of the airplane that was named to celebrate a significant anniversary of starting service to this city. The airplane was delivered in 2013.

3. We decided to do this model to mark the goodbye of this airline and its livery. While the planes will continue to fly with the surviving brand, you might find some of the premium seats ending up on the auction lot.

4. This airline is keeping these airplanes on a lot of the routes to this paradise destination that the previous airline operated them on. As the winglets get added they should see the benefits of this profitable plane improve even more.

5. Let’s test your history and geography with this model hint. This model is named after a town that was the birthplace to one of the world’s best known physicists. Cutting back on carbs? Don’t visit this city’s museum dedicated to one of these baked goods.

6. We are welcoming back this regional jet mould (not from Brazil) with the current colors of a US carrier which flies to a lot of airports. Some of you have been requesting this model for a while so we think you are going to like it. You might even like it more than how much Kayne West likes Kayne West.

7. This model is used to replace the airplane in hint number 5.

8. Before a US airline bought the fleet from them a few years ago, this airline operated 13 of these aircraft. To make it to their new home they would have made several fuel stops from their home on the other side of the world.

9. These airplanes from the past are normally seen sitting most of the day. If you’re up early enough you might be able to see them arrive. Even with their added glass, their final days will be here before we know it.

In addition to the above hints, the Air New Zealand 787-9, an ATR-72 and a 727-200 model are included in the releases. To help narrow down the 1:400 answers there are no Emirates or Hawaiian models in June’s releases.

#6 American Eagle CRJ 700 new c/s. Would have said AE ERJ-145 but the hint said not Brazilian. Don't know if the Kanye West clue factors in somehow though . . .

#5 is Lufthansa 727-100 or 737-300. A 727-200 would also be possible, but:
  • Gemini made it already many years ago
  • The subsequent hint about a separate 727-200 seems to indicate that this is the only one in the June batch.
I hoped so much that a DC-10 had this name, but it is not so...

Condor or Thomas Cook 753, would be good to finally get a Thomas Cook. The new livery features a golden heart on the tail and winglets. Then again it could be the A321, not sure on the seating numbers but the TC A321 is in full new livery.

2. This model is of the airplane that was named to celebrate a significant anniversary of starting service to this city. The airplane was delivered in 2013.

Thought it might be the Emirates A380 A6-EET which was used to mark the 10th anniversary of EK operating to Glasgow, the brand new aircraft has a 'Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014' logo applied. But this aircraft was delivered new in March 2014 and apparently no Emirates releases this month.

3. We decided to do this model to mark the goodbye of this airline and its livery. While the planes will continue to fly with the surviving brand, you might find some of the premium seats ending up on the auction lot.

American Airlines or US something or other ?
As for the rest, I've no idea !

Condor has 13 757-300 WL with 265 seats and a sunny heart in tail!

LH 737-300 named Ulm D-ABEE
Ulm is birthplace of Albert Einstein and has a Museum for breads and baked goods

7. This model is used to replace the airplane in hint number 5.

LH A-319 for 737-300

3. AirTran 737-700
4. United 757-300
5&7. Respectively, a Boeing and Airbus from Germany, probably LH.
6. AA CRJ700
8. China Eastern MD90
9. FedEx MD10

Hopefully the 727 is an Amerijet Freighter

Meatball was done by GJ, you can find and buy one within 2 months of search.
If it is UA Bass - it will be a second super-popular release sine AA MD-80, although I doubt a hazarai/corporate company would bother with it.

Hoping # 4 is either UA or DL 753. Maybe they'd even get here before the carrier pigeons that are delivering two other UA/DL Stretched Boeings I have on order from Herpa arrive from China.

I'm suspecting a Delta month:

2. Delta Spirit of Seattle
4. Delta 753
6. Delta CRJ

Personally I'm hoping 6. is a UA CRJ in the current colors since I'll be flying on one in July, although I wouldn't mind AA...

From your mouth to God's ears, let's hope so. I would buy either DL or UA in multiples.

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure it's going to be an AA, I saw people clamoring for that on another 'site some time back.

The meatball done by Gemini was the red Lorenzo years scheme rather than the Black Contrails livery which defined Continental from the late 60s to the mid 80s. At the time the entire fleet was practically 727s and DC-10s so missing this frame is a large hole - probably the largest left in the US historical fleet in 1:400.

I sadly get the feeling this will be a recent US freighter version and not anything that'd interest classics collectors.

I knew a Thomas Cook Group aircraft would be appearing soon - heres hoping its in the full new livery as above rather than the pathetic looking hybrid which doesn't work IMO!!

A big thank you GeminiJets

Jetboy says the 727 model will have a 'nice polished belly'. I don't think there are any recent 727s matching that description.

I hope you're right though the Amerijet does have a polished belly - its just a very small one:

Yes, I have that one though as Richard notes below its an odd scheme.

I agree with you on the Saul Bass United - Gemini did it in 1:200 (which I have) and its lovely. But it only has a small shiny belly.

I have the DW version and its actually quite nice, but could use another.

Maybe it's a Northwest Orient or plain Northwest "thermometer" 727-200? I have the DW and AC versions, and a beautiful Jet-X 1:200 version, but I'd snap up another - and it has a very shiny belly

The 727 is passenger and from the airliners.net pics it looks like this livery was on it in the early to mid 80s.

I'm really hopping it's a Mexicana 727-200 in the white/gold colors. It does have a nice polished belly.
