Default Gemini announces 787-9 mould.

They just piped up on Facebook to say their new 787-9 mould is almost ready, complete with rolling gears and antennae. First release will be Air New Zealand. No pictures yet...

Phoenix just posted an Air New Zealand 787-9 on their Facebook page too...don't they use the same mould?

I should clarify - I thought GJ and PHX used the same 787-8 mould. So it would stand to reason that the 787-9 mould is the same as well, but I don't know this for a fact...either way it would be a 'new' mould for GJ, right?

Yeah i expected GeminiJets to use PHX mould as i too was under the impression that they use PHX 787-8 mould, so would have made sense to use PHX 787-9,

But it will be intresting to see if Gemini's mould will be better

Does the Phoenix 787-9 have antennae though ? My Virgin Atlantic from Phoenix doesn't.

The newer ones do, like the reamliner for instance

It's a brand new mould that isn't shared with Phoenix.

This is interesting. I'm not sure whether to wait for the GJ version or just preorder the PHX version...

I hope this is much better than the Phoenothingfits version
..sorry that wasn't funny, I meant the excellent Phoenix models (not)

Here's a simple request -

how's about Gemini Jets getting their act together and producing an A350 mould. The DW version appears to have gone the way of the Dodo.
I'd certainly take the carbon fibre scheme and the Qatar launch bird.

A350 - agreed!!!

I'm already regretting my DW A350 conversion!

I'd have thought that both Gemini and Phoenix would be busily working away on an A350 mould by now, it would be madness not to. It's going to be one of the best looking airliners out there and with all the potential liveries, bound to be a hot seller.

A bird in the hand, is worth 2 in the bush!!

I'll get the PH one for sure!!
With most GJ stuff coming out of the JC factory, it would be a crap-shoot at best. (like the pun?)

I don't mind minor mould inaccuracies, but I do mind printing and assembly problems. Might just stick with GJ for this one, or get both if I feel like splurging

I've preordered the PHX and will likely get the GJ as well just to have them in hand to compare. (Wish there was a local store where I could do this...) The ANZ scheme seems to be pretty popular so I think selling one of them won't be a problem.

Back to the 787-9, an antenna laden Virgin release would be excellent, real reg too please. Same goes for a British Airways too, also once reg's are confirmed.

I've bought the Hogan version of NZ 789, not know if the mould is correct but I felt satisfied!
