I have seen this only on pre order. Colors seem accurate, whereas this isn't about the (old) mould...

100% sold-out on pre-orders so anyone who hasn't ordered it yet that wants it better do it fast.

Here is a quick one I took a few days ago.

One site is already posting "Sold Out on Preorder" so they are selling quick! I think there may be a few left come September but I doubt they'll sit for long.

Got mine today. This particular retailer contacted ADI and tried to order more a few days after the initial announcement last month and was told NO. The models were sold out on pre-order.

Odd that everybody hates the new livery yet the model is sold out, proving once again that the collectorate is full of it.

It does look ok on a real airplane, the subject painted in it must be large, the size of a real thing.
What people don't like (my hypothesis) is not particularly the new AA livery but the concept of abstractionism adapted for modern livery design.
If the symbol is used elsewhere no one would have an idea what it stands for.

Still on the fence with Ameri-flot. I know they're SELLING OUT! RUN! RUSH! BUY! BUY!, but I've seen that before.

Getting invested with the "NEW" American is going to take some serious consideration based on a scheme that looks as transient as a drifter at the Port Authority. It's just not working for me. Got used to Delta, but this hurtle may be too high to jump. Any money on the new metal is on HOLD.

There was a shortage of 400 here in the U.S. alone. Even the east coast Gemini distributor showed sold out weeks ago.

If any retailer has them available still then it would be a freakin' Christmas miracle as all of us got cut back on what we requested.

My guess is that there were more MD-90s made as they outsold the AA almost 2:1 on my end, but the supply is running short so my $10 says they are gone at the suppliers within a week, or two tops.

I bet that the new color American Airlines models will be the new Hawaiian for Gemini Jets. They're gonna crank these out, especially if the 777 does well.

I only have 1 question about this model and the real one.
I talked to my retailer and he told me that there aren't exit markings on the wings, only the black line.
Are there also no exit markings on the real 777?

If so, no problem, otherwise, this is a little mistake of GJ...

There is a link on the right top of this page to preorder of this model, everybody sees it yet still there is a talking of model being sold out.
I reserved one with the dealer I buy from, I'm not worrying, so shouldn't the "veterans" of collecting who learned the tricks with years..

I have a feeling their website hasn't been updated or they stock piled back orders in case it gets re-released. This model had big cuts with every retailer and distributor and I know of several that were scrambling to get extra pieces from anywhere they could find.

That's a good question. I bet they release a different N number soon.

FWIW they (GJ) shipped early/on-time this month. I'm used to them being 2-3 weeks late.

I didn't order the AA 77W, as I don't collect AA. I did order the DL MD90 however.. it's on its way now, I'm excited to see it.

FYI- The first big batch of American Airlines 777-300er from GJ are being sent back. The color matching was rejected by AA quality control. The next re-release will be sometime in September. If you see them on Ebay, rest assured you're taking a chance that the colors will be WRONG. Just a head's up.
I spoke with a gentleman who contacted GJ about the release and that was their response as to why everyone is getting short shipped or not at all. Don't believe the hype. They will be coming, and plenty of them for everybody.

I'm very optimistic about AAs new livery and the direction they're headed in however I will wait for an A319 with sharklets. I don't usually collect American Widebodies. Though if PHX also releases this on their 773ER with the antennas I may bite.

Literally everything about this is not true that I don't even know where to start so I'm not going to.

The models were cut back from retailers because of how many sold, more orders than products produced. Zero are being sent back.

Herb, 3rd hand info about anything is usually always wrong. And your info is definitely 3rd hand and is completely wrong when it comes to what American approved and what they do not approve.

Name your source, or best have him come here and post his so-called side of the conversation and who it was with at Gemini, otherwise you should really just STFU about something you personally know nothing about.

Nick,

I'm not ashamed. I've never posted ANYTHING that was a lie since joining this site when it first began years ago. What do I have to gain from it? I only collect, and THAT is it. Nobody gives me models or money to say or not say something about these metal toys.

You don't even know me so keep your filthy mouth shut and bad attitude stick it where the sun don't shine....K? You talk a lot of S__T from the safety of the web to distance yourself. Typical.

Name your source, or best have him come here and post his so-called side of the conversation and who it was with at Gemini, otherwise you should really just STFU about something you personally know nothing about.
Are all your pre order spots safe Nick or are some people not getting it. I want mine lol

You don't even know me so keep your filthy mouth shut and bad attitude stick it where the sun don't shine....K? You talk a lot of S__T from the safety of the web to distance yourself. Typical.
If you 'only collect' as you state above then how is it that you now feel the need to broadcast some BS that you heard from your made-up friend that could easily tarnish the reputation of the best 1:400 model company that exists? Sounds like you want to be way more involved than just buying some metal toys.

For what it's worth Herbie, I am more involved in this hobby and the 'real people' in it than you could ever hope to be and have been so for 20 years, so your juvenile comment about using the 'safety of the web' to distance myself is beyond absurd, and it also smacks of total hypocrisy on your end when you spout garbage (via the safety of the web) about a situation with Gemini that you personally know nothing about.

So, we are all still waiting for your retraction, or for you to step up and name your secret source.

Finally, if you want to make this personal then I will arrange for that the next time I am in NYC visiting any one of my numerous friends there.

K ?
