Default Gj amx dhc-8-100

Here's the Amakusa Airlines (AMX) DHC-8-100 in the former scheme

and the scheme was changed to the new one in Feb of this year.

The actual ship

The GJ 1/400 model was released in July.

I got the one and messed around with the landing gears as usual. All the gears were removed.

Here's the main landing gears. The wheel has been made of two aluminum pipes (1.0mm O.D. x 0.6mm I.D. & 0.6mm x 0.3mm) and a 0.3mm stainless steel rod.

The nose landing gear has been modified to be steerable. The 0.6mm x 0.3mm aluminum pipe has been installed on the strut as a steering pivot. The wheel has been made of an aluminum pipe (0.6mm x 0.3mm) and a 0.3mm stainless steel rod.

The steering pivot is inserted into the drilled hole in the nose landing gear well. The nose landing gear doors has been re-angled at the proper angle.

To be continued...

Thanks for all the detailed dimensions! It will certainly be very helpful to other collectors who might want to do the same for their models. I find your threads very inspirational, keep up the good work! Cheers!

Thanks!

You've noticed anything from this photo?

It's on the surface of the RH aft main landing gear door.

It's the character image of Kumamoto prefecture named "Kumamon" and they own the copyright. I guess Kumamon would be showing on AMX's ship as their homebase is located at Kumamoto airport. AMX's Kumamon is called "Kakure Kumamon, which means "Hidden Kumamon" especially. Because the pax can take a look of it when the RH main landing gear is in transition only while on board. Here's Kumamon on another airliner.

GJ has represented Kumamon on such a tiny model nicely. Kudos to GJ!

It doesn't look so good though,...

Hope you all would enjoy.
