Anyone know why the DL pink 764 is so much more expensive then the UA 764?

Because of the amount of money for each sale that will go to the cancer foundation.

I placed an order for the UA 764 roughly 6 months ago now (!) and have seen nary a word about it to this day. I've gone back to look at my invoice twice now to make sure I wasn't hallucinating about it...
Is this typically how Herpa goes about doing their business?

Edit:

I noticed this 'lil nugget after re-reading the thread just now-

Stick a fork in them. Herpa is done with 1/400 IMHO.

I'm with ya, I ordered the Tu-144 months ago, it's still showing 'awaiting stock' on my account page with ARD.

Funnily enough I popped into Aviation Centre in Berlin whilst on a visit in November 2012, they had one display model in the window from Herpa, but no idea when they'd actually get stock despite being told by Herpa they'd receive in November 2012.

The Tu-144 (the second release) in 1:400 is in stock at the Aviation Center Berlin. Mine is on its way to Canada from a different German retailer. In general Herpa has never made a secret of the fact they want to leave 1:400 to the other players, as the market space is too crowded. They make sufficient revenue from 1:500 and 1:200 releases.

This yard Kazan Aviation Institute.

Tu-144 № 05-1, side number 77107, first flew on 20 August 1975 and just completed 180 flights. Basically were tested with access to the speed limit (more than twice the speed of sound), evaluated stability and control, runway performance, range. Stood by car system failures: cut down in flight or that the chain and watched what would happen. Thus, to develop recommendations for the conduct of pilots.

March 29, 1985 the crew of Vladimir Matveyev surpassed Tu-144 in Kazan, the airfield aircraft factory.
