Default Gemini August Hints

Copied from their Facebook page. Note that the new product lines may not be 1/400.
---------
August 2013 Release Clues featuring a new mould and the launch of two new product lines!

Dear Collectors,

As promised here are the clues for most of the upcoming models. We are very excited for this month and we hope you are also! Three 1/400 models don't have clues below. I have included clues for the first two models in two new product lines!

1st NEW PRODUCT LINE:

1. This airline operates 10 of this subtype of narrow body, making it a small percentage of the overall type fleet numbers. Except for a few of them, they might also give you the sudden urge for dipped large soft serve cone.

2nd NEW PRODUCT LINE

1. You never forget your first flight behind the controls. It doesn’t matter how big your plane is now or how large your airline might be, a pilot never forgets the first time taking the controls alone, even if just for a few seconds. More people started on this airplane than any other type.

-------

1/400

1. This airline said deal to SAS, China Southern, China Eastern and JAL but “no deal” was said to Saudi.

2. January 31st 2013, welcome onboard.

3. This unpressurized airplane’s cabin felt like a box and was quite roomy in the 2-1 seat configuration. The large windows gave passengers a beautiful view of the Golden Gate bridge during their flights.

4. Some special liveries promote destinations or events while others support sporting events and sport team tours. The airline logo on this plane’s livery might have an interesting match with the animal in this tour’s logo as they can both gain height if needed.

5. if you loOk at the animal on this plane you would find it very ironic as its ready to figHt with a part of it that he doesn’t actUally fight with. howeVer Judging by his stance, he is ready to pounce.

6. Can a plane of this size influence people to join the 2020 bid? Only time will tell...

7. This airline is based in a country that’s different from its parent company. Unlike the other airplane types in their fleet, this configuration gives the passengers a few options, all 270 of them.

8. This airline removed this loud, gas guzzler quad from regularly scheduled service on November 1st, 2001. The scheduled routes were primary replaced with their A310s.

9. This plane was the first of its type delivered to the airline but unlike others, its final flight was on August 12th 2000. The early retirement was since the airline never equipped it with the return to flight modifications that were recently mandated. This model is showing her colors on her final day in operation.

10. Three additional planes without clues.

How many can you guess? Good luck!

Aeroflot retired both IL-62 and IL-86 on 1 November 2001. But the latter has been made in both liveries, so I would rule it out.

We have to wait and see if it will be the original delivery CCCP livery - with the cheatline below the windows and the rudder in blue color - or the one adopted later in the 1970s and similar to that already made by GJ, i.e. only a change in the flag and the reg.

No doubt it is a Short Bros plane, but AFAIK there is no mould for the 330. A better guess might be the 360 in United Express colors.

Doesn't matter - that's a clue for a new product line. it should be something fundamentally different from a standard 1:200 or 1:400 release.

but what to make of this part of the clue?

"sudden urge for dipped large soft serve cone."

This is completely random, but I'd love to see a Soviet classic like an Il-62 or Il-86 in the old American Airlines livery..

At first I thought it might have been a UPS 757 (white vanilla + brown chocolate), but the numbers don't quite match.

The majority of Delta's 73G registration numbers end in "DQ" which stands for Dairy Queen where I come from...Dairy Queen has amazing soft serve cones! Mystery SOLVED!!! I wonder if this Delta will be bigger (1:100) or smaller (1:500) Hmmmmmm!

Also I am SO hoping #1 in the 1:400 clues is a Delta MD90! Also curious to see what the three un-clued releases are going to be!

For the second new product line, I'm going to say C172. It is (I believe) one of the most, if not the most, common trainer aircraft. It would be interesting to see GA aircraft from Gemini.

People are saying #7 is Norwegian 787. But according to the link below, their 787s have a capacity of 291, not 270. Thoughts?
Norwegian long-haul fleet to be configured with 291 seats

The GJ 773 mould is ok, it's the outdated landing gear I do'nt care much for. Having said that, It's all good as I have been waiting for this to be realized since AA took delivery of their 1st 777-300ER!

For the 3 without clues, I would say you are correct. More Delta & Hawaiian with diff regs.
