Don't know where to begin. Aeroflot, SF, UTA, and the C-46 new mould. I like how those engines look.

Which ones, the Caravelle's?

F-BNRB was a Caravelle 10 and had larger, differently-shaped P&W JT8D-7 engines with metal color intakes and exhausts.

There is also a Pan Am C-46 N67980 made by Pan Am Models which of course is just a brand of Aeroclassics. Now that's a nice model and I have it on preorder already.

Great to see a C-46!

Thumbs up Re: AeroClassics; New Releases for June 2013

Aeroflots 330s are good! Although I was expecting the three little brothers, not the two big sisters this month! It's all good.
The C-46 is a very welcome surprise. Some nice liveries to do there!
Not a bad month at all and still under budget.

Oh I agree...but it seems to be the general fashion that people knock AC for releasing 'modern' types like A320s, despite them having by far the best A320 family mould.

Perhaps they blame AC for releasing the A320 in the modern nonsense liveries, rather than A320 itself. Perhaps people would not "knock" AC as much if the A319-320 was released in United Battleship, British Landor/Lufthansa re-release and etc... if AC re-releases Air China with 6-10 models each month (are 90% collectors being from China?) than why not rerelease British and Lufthansa???

I will buy PanAm Commando, Delta DC-8, both LH 707s.

Aeroclassics released the British Airways New Colors A319/320/321 a couple of years ago, along with the Lufthansa series too.

Is the main fuselage colour on the Virgin, comparable to the Phoenix or Gemini VA releases so far ? Hard to judge by the photo but it looks awfully white..

The fuselage white (white is not a colour by the way, it is a "shade", as is black), is comparable to the real aircraft. White and black are a base that either brightens or darkens whatever "colour" it is blended with. Add black to white, for example, the result is a shade of grey. Grey is not a colour, it is also a shade. Add white or black to any color the result is a variant of the color that was mixed with white or black. Being an art major in college during my formative years, until I got wise and switched to business, taught me this lesson that I now bestow on you, Big Al.

That's a lesson you had to pay for, so you need to be charging Big Al a consulting fee...recoup that school expense.

That's a lesson Goldy imparted to Big Al and me on a volunteer basis. Neither one of us asked for it but I appreciate the lesson nonetheless.

The "Delta Air Lines" DC-8-61 is definitely an under the radar release. Very Nice.

I still maintain that with all that S&M etc in 50 shades of grey, it should rather have been called 50 shades of purple!

Thank you for imparting your art school knowledge Peewee, I feel honoured and edified...

Now then... back to the original question. Is the main body "shade" comparable or indeed does it match in "shading" terms, the 'tone' 'hue' or 'saturation' levels displayed on recent Phoenix or Gemini Jets new livery 'Virgin Atlantic' releases ? (see I added a little art school terminology of my own there).

The Manchester one is called 'Queen of the Cobbles' very good. I think the names came from a competition run amongst Virgin customers.

Now then... back to the original question.
White is white. I have always suspected that basic white will photograph different depending on the camera and the lighting. I maybe color blind and don't know it so to me the white shade on all three examples appear the same. I'm comparing a variety of photos of the Gemini and the Phoenix to the one photo of the AC, Al.

..... No Ty-95 or Ty-114. Though the C-46 is interesting, PLAAF isn't quite. Back to hibernating.

I have at least one for sale in my online store. No one has bought it yet. So, no, they are not sold out yet. But they will be soon.

I was very excited to see the C-46 coming, at last ! Many interesting liveries, I hope it will be used more than the Fokker 28 or Herald...
But then I was very disappointed at the UTA Caravelle, supposed to represent a 10 R (or 10 B1 R as it was officially labelled by Sud-Aviation). But what a joke ! Wrong engines, wrong cockpit, wrong door and logo placement, if it came from another brand it would be shot down in flames !
Ethics ? No way ! Just another model for the "panic buyer".

But check out the Pan Am release also! That's very nice.

That's right, we need to spread the wealth from the "panic buyers", and we also know that a UTA Caravelle will never be made again by anyone.

There is no excuse for this, as there are still many hot sellers that can be done on the AC Caravelle III/6 mould - Air Algerie, Luxair, Libyan Arab Airlines, SAS (SCANDINAVIAN titles) etc.
Andrew - you can't condemn JC for making a JAL DC-10-40 on a DC-10-30 mould, when you are in the same boat?
