I think we'll be seeing this from GJ in the next couple of months. Got my fingers crossed.

Yet another thread about AA new colors. Let the grumbling and arguments begin.

As for AA new colors being "long overdue," how the hell ya figure that?? The scheme was only introduced a few months ago. Production schedules for models are typically put in place long before that anyway.

Herpa has announced an AA B777-300ER in 1/500 for October and Skymarks has intro'd
a 1/200 for August 2013. AA announced their new livery in late February so the 1/400s
SHOULD be coming, in my opinion, July or August 2013. Stay tuned.

Some people can't seem to comprehend that these things don't happen by magic...

AA's new colours are hideous, so it really doesn't matter to me. I'm still waiting for a decent 1:400 777-200ER of AA ( ie PHX mould)...will probably never get that!

I can state with certainty that the June batch of Aeroclassics will not have any of these AAwful liveries.

Almost certain, because brand new A320s are "classics".

some of the answers to my thread sound vicious. i have been a proud member of this hobby since 1996 and 600+ models later i see this hobby crashing because in my opinion we do not keep up with the new liveries. as it is the airlines have fewer liveries than ever before due to all the merges and penny pinching for special liveries like the world tails, peter max etc. i like to collect in sets like the baseball cards...for example the jet blue tails have a few that were never made in 1/400 like blue berries and bar codes. manufacturers.... if you want people to buy, you have to produce planes that people, like myself, see at the airport.

ps... to the haters of this livery anything with the colors of my country is the best!

You are a people? :D

Bottom line: Do you really check out all of the new releases by the various manufacturers every month? Because there are a lot more than just Gemini in the game these days. Between all of them, there's more product featuring the liveries of current carriers than most retailers can keep up with.

Back to your initial topic, though: The new AA livery (love it or hate it) is only a few months old. Manufacturers typically plan their release schedules far in advance. This is so licenses, artist renderings, templates, color codes, print overlays, moulds, production samples and multiple production authorizations can all be dealt with, not to mention securing production and assembly space and staffing.

I thought 2 threads would give me a better chance of getting the manufacturers to make the plane.

I'm sure the new colors were being worked on the day they were announced. I'm guessing they will start to show up in August.
