Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"

The lufthansa 747-8 appears to have an antenna. Cool.

Well I'll take the FedEx ATR, but I have to say I wish there was an Alaska salmon-three-salmon or a westjet.

LH and BA for me
Shame though that the 748 is the PH mould but in this case, I'll just have to live with it.

I was so looking forward to this, but now that it appears GJ have copied Phoenix's error with the window configuration, I'm not so sure. Didn't anyone at GJ or Phoenix pick up that mistake?

Aft of the upper deck exit door, there should be 16 windows on the starboard side, while the port side has 15, then three plugged windows, then two more windows. They are not the same on both sides. This model, like the Phoenix 747-8 D-ABYA, has 15 windows on both sides, two plugged windows, then two more windows.

Also, on LH's 747-8, there are three plugged windows immediately aft of L4 and R4, which neither the Phoenix D-ABYA nor GJ D-ABYC corrected:

Shame. This model could've been so much better.

I'm aware of that. Windows are a printing issue, not a mould issue. It's a shame that Phoenix didn't pick up on this error so they can tell their factory not to replicate it.

Awesome!

Just after I asked for the BA 773, it is announced! Definitely getting that one.
Thanks!!!

The UA 762, FedEx 777 and the LH 748 are on the possibly-maybe list.
After all, there'll be a lot of cash tied up on the 1/200 side this month!

According to a post on Gemini's Facebook page, these are pics of sample models that correction notes were based out of and are often lacking details/changes that the final batch has.

D-ABYC ... not what I was looking for but 100 times better than this PH fantasy-error-mashup-release. A must have here.

3. Gjual1109 united dc-3 (n814cl ) - WOW
Sadly not so wow as it's not a United DC-3 at all but one owned by Clay Lacey Aviation that is currently preserved and painted in a UA scheme. It doesn't appear that it ever operated for United (or any other airline). So its completely useless to join my UA fleet. Gemini just don't seem able to produce proper classics (or at least do so very rarely). I wonder if Clay lacey requested this model as if they didn't a proper UA DC-3 would have made a lot more sense.

United has leased it in the past for promotional purposes ... so while it was never a "true" United C-47 ... it was used by them

Exactly! Blue colour is completely wrong and too bright! Why GJ have to model inaccurately restored planes is beyond me when, if they done their research properly, they could have made a really accurate United DC-3 that is much wanted!

Thanks, I'd seen it listed in a couple of places a 'G-(TBA)' making me thing they hadn't decided on a reg yet...

"the 748 is a phoenix model (well it's their mould) ... being released by Gemini Jets." Don't think so - look at the junction of the engine pylons with the forward edge of the wing - there's that telltale clumsy flash line (common to all Gemini Jets 747s) that could so easily be filed away during finishing, but never is. The reason there are no GJ 747s in my inventory. Demand quality! Doug

The LH 748 is on Phoenix's mold, 100% sure.

You are correct. On looking at a pic I made of my Phoenix LH 787 (Ground), I can plainly see that it is the exact same mould. Keep 'em flying, Doug

Great picture, now I've got to work out how to loose that terrible gap on the vertical stabilizer.

Doug,
I'm thinking I will make a small fillet out of styrene and add it to the bottom portion of the v.stab. There is Lufthansa blue available in model spray which may do the trick. I really don't like they way PH does their 747 tails.
I'll experiment before I take on the modification to the model.
Another point - in your pic the u/c appears metallic although I'm told it's grey - what's your verdict?

Tim - the u/c on my Phoenix is metallic, with doors grey. Your vertical stab modification sounds quite good. I would guess that you plan to cut and fit the styrene fillet, then remove it for painting, then slide it back in. Great idea. Keep 'em flying, Doug
