How to clean nicotine stains off
Hey everyone. Picked up a couple of planes off of ebay the other day and they arrived today with that yellow tinge and smelling of nicotine and was wondering whats the best way to go about cleaning them. They didn't cost much, so no point sending them back, so thought I'd just clean them up. They're Dragon Wings models, so have plastic wings, but the white fuselages look really tired and sad, so want to bring them back to life again without damaging the paint or livery.

Thanks in advance!

Re: How to clean nicotine stains off
Try Mr Muscle window cleaner (the green stuff with vinegar in)
Note other similar look alike products don't work
Used to use this to remove the nicotine stains off computer equipment,
AFAIK it shouldnt damage the model but try a little bit first.

Dragon wings paint is a little delicate, some wax products might damage it. Good luck buddy!

Ammonia will cut the nicotine stains. One of main ingredients in window cleaner.

We actually had to use straight ammonia to clean the gummy substance off the fuselage exterior and keep cabin outflow valves clean and operating smoothly back in the day when passengers were allowed to smoke inflight.

Those models sound pretty disgusting. I would consider them as damaged no matter what price and return them.

Thanks for the replies lads, will give it a go delicately on the 767 first as not too fussed if that one gets further damaged. If it does work I might strip them right down and do some code 3's on them :D
