Default Which model do you still desperately need for your collection?

From the ones already built by the different brands, which model do you still desperately need for your 1/200 collection but failed to find/buy?

In my case it is the IF200 AFR B-707 70's OC...

I cannot sum how many hours I've been looking for her in the internet. She sold out from every single retailer around the globe

Sorry to hear that. The very last one I saw retail was at PEP Air on the Isle of Reunion a few months ago going for a small fortune. It was bought by a forum member who has since sold it privately. Keep your eyes peeled in the 'For Sale' section, as these sometimes do pop up.

To the point -- I really need only two -- and neither is made yet.

For my small and slow growing 'Aircraft I've Flown on in the 21st Century' collection, I'm missing a Porter Airlines Q400. Lots of Q400's getting pumped out these days, but no Porter as of yet. Who knows . . . maybe someday I'll be able to add a representative of Canada's only 4-star airline, and one that Queen Elizabeth II has flown on? Gemini would be preferred. The good news is, there seems to be a lot of interest in regionals, so I remain optimistic.

The second would be a AirFrance/BritAir CRJ-900 for my contemporary Air France collection. Gemini would be preferred as they really outdid themselves with their Delta and SAS ones. Magnificent, indeed!

That is it for me. Great thread idea, Maurice.

Pan American and Air France (OC) 707-320B's.

But then again, Pan Am 707's pop up on E-Bay occasionally, so I guess they are available, for $350-400. I just won't and can't pay those kind of prices for a 707.

With the fine job Gemini and Jet-X does on 727-200's, I would love to see them produce a 707. Maybe an old style -320B with the small ventral fin. In ALL the liveries. After all, the already have the mold for the front 1/3!

The IF200 KLM 744 but I'll be more than happy if Hogan releases it on their new revised mold.

I would wager it would be sold out in 5 minutes once released. Very popular aircraft/livery.

Basically I need every Lufthansa modell I don't have up to now...

But especially the LH 747-400 "Expo" Modell Edition from Herpa (way too expensive for me) and a A300 in the current livery which is yet to be produced and I have no idea why Herpa did not produce one already...

Many years ago, I saw a 1/200 Manx F-27 (possibly by Skyline) in the CAM magazine. I don't know whether this was a sample or pre-pro but I've never heard or seen any evidence of anyone actually owning this model so I can't say whether it ever went into production but I'd love it if I could find one.

Actually, I'd like Herpa to step up and do a brand new F-27 mold and slap the Manx colours on it - a very elegant scheme.

In my opinion these three moulds are missing in the 1/200-world:

Boeing 720
Boeing 707-400 (Rolls-Royce jets)
Airbus A300B4/B2

Being new to the large scale collecting, I missed the Braniff inflight 707 offerings and would like to get at least one of the pastel colors.

I realize that the topic was "what are you needing" and not what are "you wishing for"... but...

Assuming were not just talking about models that have already been produced, I need a Alaska 737-400 in the standard livery. No only is it desperately for my AS/QX collection, but this is by far the plane I have spent the most time on. I would love to have one of these, even on the PH mould

Default Re: Which model do you still desperately need for your collection?

Happy to say, the two models I wanted were a 1/200 Boeing 2707-300 (and a 1/25 scale Concorde). The Braniff/Air France Concorde has been with me for a few years now. The Boeing SST recently joined the collection more recently and is being reworked as it is a blank.

Desperation for collecting?, not so much. What isn't available at any price, (or favorites), is covered in my portfolio. Obsession might be a better term in my situation.

Sorry for the grainy pics.
