Default Does NOT look good for a classic DC-10-10 !

I was a the EWR show ( was very good! ) and had a chance to talk to Don from Jetstreams USA/InFlight.

I mentioned how I wish IF would do a 1/200 DC-10-10, I would get em all.
Unfortunately he states it will never happen. Why? He said sure the center gear could get removed and install the early reversers on the engines but the "micrometer crowd" would go wild over the different wing fillet from the -10 to the -30s. The mould would cost way too much to make a proper DC-10-10.

All I can say is I would be thrilled with IF -10 even without the early wing fillet difference.

So for the heck of it I also spoke to Ron from Daron / The Airplane Shop. I really like the Hogan and other 1/200 plastic models he has with wheels. I could care less about "rot-cast" anyhow. I ask how about it. And it gets shot down, all DC-10s . Said most of his models are for corporate sales and the run off go to collectors. Again too much expense for a low product run for him. I asked about L-1011s too - no way as well.

BTW - both gents were nice to talk with too.

I want ALL early DC-10-10s
MD roll out
American
United ( and stars and bars )
Delta
National
Continental

Unless Herpa comes out with a DC-10-10........... its doomed!

You can get Smallworld custom DC10s as 10-10's, ok we do as Don suggests fill the centre gear etc but they are available ( if not already available they can be done!!)from ARD

This is the worst news ever. I spent a good portion of my adult life working aboard N101AA when it was part of AA's DC10 fleet, and if there is one model I want more than any it is that one...

I'm sure it will be done someday. After all we are in the early "industrial" years of this hobby, so either the major brands will eventually do everything that flew, or some new ones will specialize in these a/c oversighted by others. It's only a question of time.

Well, AA just has been released by IF, but silver paint instead of bare metal. CO last livery also has been out by IF and meatballs are done by AV200.

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
