Default About A330/A340 diecast models

Are there any A330/A340 diecast models in 1:200 available in the market?
Why do diecast model manufacturers such as GJ, JC not plan to come out with diecast collections in Airbus wide-body series? I think they are indispensable models for the collectors.

To my knowledge, not in 1:200. Why? I haven't the foggiest. As you say they are indispensable. Agreed. Maybe someone in close orbit to one of the manufacturers could pop by and provide some insight?

Well, we seen A300 in diecast and it's improving. Maybe A330 and A340 can be up next... just my two cents

Agreed.

We've also seen an A310 too, but it is (*ahem*), well . . . let's just say . . . it is.

At the moment, I pass on the A310 made by HM, unless if they come out with Delta A310. Hopefully an A310 with equal moulding and tooling to IF and JC will come out.

in case Airbus wide bodies are coming out in diecast, then we can surely expect some 'never done before' liveries...

I'll believe it when I see it.
So far the only metal airbus is the JC A300.
It is not up to standards. (Mine at least)

The HM A310 is even worse.

Yes the A330/340 1/200 th are really missing . Its better forcis to wait a little more Time than having them approximatively done such as some at 1/400 scale .

Completely.

That said, I'd say that JC A300 (& InFlight) is a lot closer to being respectable than anything in metal I've seen that is supposed to represent the A310.

I agree, though, I too would like to see a real dazzler series of A300's, A310's and A330's in diecast.

Something to look forward to in the future, yes?

Haha I like your diplomatic "closer to being respectable"
The JC is the only thing around
In the kingdom of blind men, the one-eyed is king.

All manufacturers including Hogan do not have the Airbus cockpit area right.
And very seldom if ever the cockpit windows are correctly printed.
Is that so hard to do?

Indeed so.

Gemini comes the closest, IMPO, but on the A320's for instance, they still miss the 'furrowed' look of the two centered windows (among a few other small attributes). Not dismal, but could be tighter.

"Is that so hard to do?" Apparently so. I find it hard to believe that nobody can find talented Chinese Graphic Artists who are ALSO into aircraft. Once the art is done, tested, and confirmed as looking 100%, they can print a million of these things.

Yes, out of a country of roughly a gazillion, I guess it is too hard to do.

A diecast version of A330 would be a killer seller! Will take Korean Air & Hawaiian any time!

Hmm...this is one of those many mysteries about this hobby (like why aren't there too many 1:400 MD80s/88 series)...if Gemini200 was to come out with an Iberia A340-600, as far fetched as it sounds, that would make a killing. Maybe a Hawaiian A330 and/or Delta A330. Unfortunately, the probability of an A380 1:200 model is out of reach...for now..unless you want to get the skymarks and hogan models. But a Gemini200 A380 is like the possibility of the Concorde flying again, awesome but the odds are against it :P

I would bet that the next diecast Airbus will be the A330 by Gemini because that aircraft has sold pretty well in the USA.
The challenge will be to capture that special cockpit shape, there are two large flat areas on both sides behind the cockpit windows that no one incl Hogan has managed to reproduce correctly, the result is that the 2 front windscreens are too wide and the side windows messed up.
Skymarks on the other side has exagerated these flat areas and messed up their cockpit a bit like a Airboeing.

Russ did mention a while back a major manufacture is going to make a die cast A330. I'd say an A340 would be quite easy as both buses share very high commonality.

Thanks mate, it's actually a simple photoshop of Delta current 777-200LR, but i like it if it's a 300ER, the best aircraft out there that virtually fits any livery.

I agree, I could use more A343 as well.

Can anyone confirm which manufacturer might be the first to bring a diecast A330/A340 to the market?

And when might we see one?

Hard to imagine a diecast mold better than the Hogan mold. Still, I hope to see someone nail this mold (with a detailed undercarriage) as we would see a greater range of liveries than Hogan will ever offer.

It was discussed in other threads & there was a clue for next December releases
from Gemini 200 but as other moulds it should be shared with JC Wings.
