Smile Starjets200 - Anyone ?????

I am looking at buying some Starjets 1/200 models, but I don't know much about them and wanted to get some opinions. Are they similar to Hogans?

They seem to be very cheap on ebay but they look like good models...anyone recommend them?

Thanks for the help!

I had a 1:200 Ansett A320, cam with a neat little numbered card etc. At the time I began collecting, it didn't fit into my 1:400 collection, so I sold it. I regret it every single day I look at my collection. It was a very nice model. If anyone has an Ansett A320 PM me lol.

Hey Spud
Just noticed your post! You are in luck mate, I have a 1:200 Ansett A320 still in box with card. How much are you wanting to pay for such a gem?

This Starjet 1:200 Ansett A320 model (#DJAAA024) is a lovely little model and has some historical significance in that it was issued to commemorate the last ever Ansett flight from Perth to Sydney on the 4th of March 2002, (thus the limited edition numbered card. I have model # 851). There is one little error unique to this model however and that is that the rego VH-HYI is incorrectly represented as "A" on the nose gear door, (obviously it should be "I"). This however adds to the charm of the model and is now one of the distiguishing features that can assist in assessing it's originality and authenticity.

I like that positive approach to an error!

Sorry to dig out a (very) old thread but I've heard both opinions about Starjets models. Are they made of plastic or diecast? Thanks

Love Starjets. I’m getting into plastics big time. The Starjet 757 is pretty awesome, and the Eastern Airlines 757 Platinum(?) is tops?

One word - underrated! I wish plastic was the preferred medium for the major manufacturer's, especially in 1/200 scale. The Starjets models are great.

Yes there were two different versions. Have a list of all the regular starjets releases. Sold all my collection due to various yellowing issues.
Extra ones were as above BA Landor 757, Eastern 757, and as Russell's Models The two Iron Maiden 757s, Monarch Old Colors 757, BA Blue Peter 757.

I have several - actually just noticed that one is in the box under my work-from-home desk. A USAirways A321. It's dated 2002. Just popped it open and yes, there's yellowing and it's odd. One wing has yellowed - the other has not. One pylon has yellowed - the other has not. Nice planes but I'd be surprised with the aging that they all don't have some yellowing.

Having said that - anyone interested in it? ;-)

Starjet models were manufactured by Gemini Jets. Does anyone know who is on the Iron Maiden box with the shaving cream??

All I seem to remember was handing over £90 and for that gained an entire 1/200 collection..

From there it just went downhill...

Lets see if Fotoboooket can post multiples....
