Default First pictures: Ansett-ANA Boeing 727-77 (VH-RME).

Hi Guys,

I'd just like to announce my latest exclusive release here in the Australian market: a 1/200 scale Boeing 727-77 in Ansett-ANA 1964 delivery colours.

Her Rego is VH-RME, replicating the very first Australian 727 to land in Australia at Essendon Airport here in Melbourne on October 16th, 1964. Having flown across the Pacific in company with TAA's first example (VH-TJA), Ansett-ANA won the right to land theirs first by the toss of a Coin.

The Model itself has taken advantage of the Flightline200/ JC Mold. However a major difference lies in that my releases have a proper polished Metal belly as opposed to the regular painted metallic finish.

These are limited to 320pcs worldwide, and my shipment is due within 2 weeks. As usual, anyone who's interested in obtaining one can reach me at holdsworthac@bigpond.com for pricing and shipping costs.

In the meantime, enjoy the pictures!

Cheers,
Nalanji.

How much are these? I am almost about to cease purchasing models, as I have to have open heart surgery due to my surgery last week being aborted due to difficulties and as such have to save as I need 6-12 weeks with no pay. At the right price this could be my last model.

Thumbs up Re: First pictures: Ansett-ANA Boeing 727-77 (VH-RME).

I have to compliment you, that's a very beautiful model, nice effort. There's a great Boeing photo of one of these aircraft at altitude. Superb!

Nice job as per usual Simon. Will CAM be stocking???. I stand by ready to kick some butt of the usual silly, unrealastic, sef-appointed model critics who are really a drag to this hobby.

Beautiful. But again as with the TAA, we have a galley door positioned way to close to the wing -- practically sitting over it. Not to mention the cascade reversers where we should have buckets. But still quite a beautiful model. Wish I had money and space.

the model was held up with prod issues, in hoping the door was one of the issues addressed, otherwise its a quick acetone job. I suspect photos are prod samples anyway as Nalanji would have refused acceptance im sure.

Cheers Sir Freddie,
Thanks for your feedback. I'm pretty sure I've seen the photo you're refering to. The combination of red, white and blue contrasting with the natural Metal underside just looked awesome against the azure blue of the Aussie skies! Check out this for a classic shot:

Hi Panam707,
Thanks for your feedback. The Galley Door is a problem that is endemic to any JC/ Flightline200 B727-100 unfortunately. The problem is that the artwork patterns for things like all the standard Doors and Windows are set in stone and can't be altered. Beleive me I tried to have this rectified at the Sample stage, but this was how it had to be.

I think you'll agree though that this (overall) is a hell of a lot better than the TAA B721 in terms of accuracy.

Bucket Reversers currently aren't tooled for this Model as of yet.

Still, not a deal breaker for most I'd imagine.

Cheers,
Nalanji.

Hey mate!
How's things? Many thanks for your efforts in dealing with the protagonists re: my Hogan Qantas A300B4 Model. That was a classic!

To answer your question- yes, CAM will have stocks of these in 2-3 weeks from now. I'm sure at some stage we'll have someone chiming in with any and all perceived faults!
Hope to catch up with you soon.

Cheers,
Nalanji.

Hi European Collector,

Thanks for your comment. You know, I used to wonder why some classic schemes were never produced either. That's why I decided to do something about it (in terms of the Australian market anyway).

Like you, I'm a collector and hobbyist. The big Manufacturers and Distributors aim is to manufacture Models that will sell out in the shortest time- which is why you won't see the mainstream manufacturers producing relatively obscure subject matter.

I got lucky I guess in that I've been able to do some networking, and now have good working relationships with various Manufacturers. This gave me the tools to start producing a range of Australian specific Models in 1/200 scale.

You could do this in your home country for your market too- all you need is contacts (and $$$$ start up Capital).

Cheers,
Nalanji.

Here's a shot of RME sitting in my Cabinet alongside her Cousin of the era: a 1/200 Ansett-ANA DC9-31 in 1967 Ansett-ANA delivery colours (Rego is VH-CZF).

If anyone's intersted, I still have some DC9's for sale. They come in two Rego's: VH-CZC and -CZF. My email is holdsworthac@bigpond.com

Cheers,
Nalanji.

That's a very handsome looking aeroplane in that photo. Ansett's colours flatter that airframe well. I do like the big red t tail.
I love this photo, if only for that fact it looks so bloody warm and sunny. In Britain, at the moment, we're not sure what the sun is!

You should try being in Melbourne at the moment!
38 degrees C today, and 36 tomorrow.
Adelaide had 43 degrees C today!

That's very, very cruel. Yep I've got a mate in Sydney, I might just hop aboard one of Branson buses and see some sun!

This AN B721 is superb.
One of the world's best retro liveries IMO and the mould looks completely accurate in every respect.
Very very tempting!

Note - Adelaide got to 44.2C and was clear skies with searing heat and strong winds. Bushfire nightmare stuff.
