Cool Hogan: Air France 'Skyteam' 777-300ER [F-GZNE]

Here it is! I wanted to get this model first since I'd heard of it a couple months back. It is a gorgeous model with a lot of details like the other new Hogan models. It would definitely be a great addition to an Air France or Skyteam fleet.

Here are the pics! :

The only thing I did not see were the wingwalk arrow strips and two black strips which can probably be added with some decals anyway.

Very nice Skyteam model indeed...I'm wondering what is the "red spot" above the tail registration? looks like a woman's lipstick print...lol

ps. The GE90 looks like the new improved engine by Hogan...looking pretty thick and HUGE..hehe

Those are the old/new engines can't tell, still wedding ring feel to it.

This would be the new AF jet I get to compliment my existing all Euro white AF collection! But still need to get the AF 744

Yeah I noticed that little print too above the registration...haven't noticed it on any other 777's before.

I bought this model from late400starter here on DAC. He has a lot of 1:200 models listed in his threads in the For Sale section.

Yep Janek, though normal digital cams aren't spectacular for close-up shots. I don't know about that G11, I'll definitely consider it!

I can't tell myself either, especially since this is my only Hogan 777 model. I'm guessing you're looking for the old livery AF 744...I think Air Paradigm has it (http://airparadigm.com/hogan_air_fra...ance+747+hogan) but its availability is listed as "Usually ships in 2-3 Weeks"..it's definitely a nice model!

Edit: Wow now that I click on the link it's gone! It was there when I searched for it on the site!

About the red spot above the tail registration : Isn't it the place where the flight recorder is ?

Another little thing I was expecting was the very pearly silver on this model which I've seen in pics of Northwest models and other Skyteam alliance models. I guess the pics make them look a lot more pearly and they appear to have those shiny silver dots. It's almost impossible to notice them on the model unless you hold it in direct sunlight.

(Necropost alert!)

I was digging around the forum looking for some members shots of this model, as I have been contemplating adding this to my all Euro white AF collection for some time now, but needed that 'push'.

Then I came across your photos -- absolutely gorgeous!! Without a doubt, I'll be ordering this right after I post this. THEY were the 'push'.

Stunning shots of an absolutely gorgeous model. Thanx!

Well, yes, so it was alluded to. I thought I'd grab this one regardless, as I just love the livery. Now, if Gemini actually DO make one of these during my lifetime (check my age to your left ) I'll consider it seriously -- PROVIDED -- they get the main gear on their 777's sorted first.

From what I've read in other posts, this model suffers the 'silver fleck' when photographed. Apparently it is closer to a satin (but not completely) in real life. Frankly, I like that 'champagne silver fleck'. Anyhow, in about a week or so when Mr. Waffle gets mine to me, I'll be happy to report back.

Oh, absolutely! And the selection is FAR better than the place we know locally that can't seem to keep its website current.

Ah, yes, the Megamodel version. Hmmm . . .

I will reserve judgement until I get my Hogan one. Somehow, their 'champagne silver fleck' seems to fit a French-liveried' aircraft, in my mind (even if it may be a bit of an exaggeration). Yup -- I'm biased.

Anyhow, here are a few pics of the real one -- grime and all.

Any chance of a DL skyteam by Hogan. I'm aware that GJ made the 757. But I miss putting the models together

so hogan is pretty close

Yeah, the original is actually more of a satin silver. Hogan's 'silver fleck' is more of an exaggeration. As Parminder said in his earlier post (#16), the 'fleck' is really only noticable with close-up photography. Regardless, I like the affect, even if it IS inaccurate.

The only thing I don't like is that bend on the left side wing. Mine has it too, and as i saw the pictures of your model I think it might an error in the left wing mould. I saw another post with this AF B773 with some custom upgrades and has the same "problem".

I read every comment and nobody mentioned or noticed that detail, so I just wanted to share my perception.

Have a nice day.
