Default Herpa DC-10 paintcracks

Not sure if there's already a thread about this...

Just founded these on my Thai DC-10:

Not good...

Woo-hoo, I originally thought this was the INFLIGHT Thai Airways DC-10! Paint cracks on other brands are a rather rare sighting, so I doubt there ever was a thread on this topic (or any other Herpa model).

Unfortuate to see. You should address a complaint to the Herpa Customer Service.

Very unusual sighting on a plastic model.

I wonder if the model was exposed to high heat in transit. That's the only explanation I have for plastic cracking like that.

Also, wouldn't the plastic (or whatever substance it is) have been dyed white before molding, and not painted white after casting.

Here's a pic taken at the same day i got it, and i can't see any cracks in the nose:

What do you use to clean the model? I learned the hard way that cleaning agents can damage/mar plastic. If you just use a gentle hand soap and water vs Fantastic or any other spray cleaner, your model will be okay and clean.

Wow, that looks bad... I had HE TG DC10, mine did not have any paint cracks, but had human hair under clear coat... Which made me sick, so I sold it... HE need some serious QC for their new 1/200 manufacturers.

Easy with Herpa: 1 per 1 replacement.

If Herpa relaced your DC10 after a year then I would be shocked. There is no such thing as a 1 year warranty on their models.

Due to overexposure I wouldn't say anything based on this photo.
