LH A340-600 Disappointment.

I bought Herpa's LH A340-600 1/200 on the 29th from a store through amazon.com. There was a mistake in the system and my order went from "about to ship" to "cancelled". When I looked the item up on amazon, it said there were 2 available. I payed for it and everything, but it got cancelled. The store emailed me and was very appologetic. Now I did a search all over the web and I'm resorted to two options: a store in Germany and an online US store. Either way, I would have to pay about $100 with shipping included, give or take a few bucks. Should I buy it since HE models are limited?

If you want it then buy it. It may be gone 3-4 months later

Go for the Hogan version. It has a few less details but its cheaper and comes in snap fit configuration. I sent you the links before to the seller in Germany remember? He also has the Hogan LH A380, 744 and A343.

I got one for Christmas and was definitely not disappointed. The level of detail is superb, one of the best models in my collection.

All plastic. I paid $74 for mine and thought it was worth every penny.

Aviationworld.net still shows it in stock for $74 CAD, so if you're ever near the border that may be another place to look.

Me just being a 35 minute bus ride away from Aviationworld is keeping me away from it, due to that price :D.

I am getting that model soon. Good pics of it, it looks nice. If price is a factor in your decision, go for Hogan. It is still a good model excpet it has no reg and not as many Details. Jetspro and Aviation World have the Herpa version and LH Worldshop has the Hogan version.

There's two Herpa versions of this? Do they have the same ID of 550901?

The only difference is the gear (older is plastic, newer is rubber). They carry the same ID.

I think I'm going to buy the one from aviationworld.net if it has rubber tires. I just asked them...still waiting for a reply.

The last batch of models Hogan made for the LH Worldshop all had regs and were weighted as well.

what does "weighted" mean?

mjabbasi 06-03-2010 06:32 AM

Re: LH A340-600 Disappointment.

The first and second run of models HG did for LH were lightweight and did not have the weight rod inside the model giving it that heavy feel. The last lot they made they made with the weight inside giving it the feel and weight of normal HG models.
