Red face My Collection..... so far!!!!!

I thought I would share a few photographs of my growing collection. I started collecting in January of 2009. It has become somewhat of an obsession. I have outgrown several display cases and have upgraded several times. My collection is currently displayed in two cabinets that are almost seven feet tall by four feet wide and I am again, out of space. I also have a separate cabinet to display the boxes for my collection which I feel are also works of art in many cases. I would love to hear from all of you on display ideas, larger cabinets, any ideas that might be useful in helping me display my growing collection.

Matt

Sorry for the photo quality.. Taking pictures through glass with all of the reflections proved to be quite a challenge!

Very nice collection indeed. I have been looking for a cabinet myself. What brand are your cabinets? They look very nice with some good room.

They are Philip Reinisch cabinets.... They originally came with four, 1/4" thick, glass shelves. I had seven, 3/8" thick, glass shelves made for each cabinet. This was to support the amount of weight to be carried by each shelf.

Well lets see, I don't collect metal models but i think the 747 in boeing delivery colors and the other is Eastern B727 in scale 1/200
I might be wrong though!

Well, you're only half wrong! You are correct on the IF200, Boeing Roll Out, 747-100. A hint on the other????? hmmm, lets see. It is also InFlight 200... And Gemini has yet to release this aircraft in 200 scale!

Easy. The Boeing House colors 747 and the TWA 707 are InFlight.

i like your collection so much, above all that B747 "roll out" and it's impressive for a collection started only one year ago.

I missed only other airlines around the world but certainly this is a great start.

I am looking at this curio by howard miller. 50x21.5x80 It might be big enough for you. Nice and deep so you can have two rows of some smaller 200 A/C. Also nice and wide to get some 747's on one shelf. Its model number is 680235. Cant seem to get the right page to copy and paste.

If you keep some of them on their stands you will fit a whole lot more models in per shelf! That way you have some up on stands and others in around the stand bases.
