Nice mould - as usual. Problem with regular plastic models is the fact they aren't made with chrome finish... otherwise American Airlines would be a 'must have'.

And... yes, I am sure we'll see an American 767 with or without winglets from Gemini200 soon.

Nice looking jet! As for the chrome look - we can always pretend it was parked in Fairbanks during the coldest day of the year and that it is just "frost"

They didn't even bother to update the markings. There's no oneworld logo, and the "LuxuryLiner" titles have been gone just as long as the luxury itself has. On top of that, they couldn't even change the registration. N385AM doesn't even have winglets yet. Compare this to the much more accurate ALP version.

That being said, though, I still want this model. I'm a sucker for AA's 76W.

Although I completely agree with you, I am sure 385Alpha Mike will get winglets soon enough, however I will most definatly get this model, get rid of the Luxury Liner titles and add more detail to her!

I do however miss the "Luxury Liner" titles!

I know Danni, cant wait to actually have that one in my hands, its going to look pretty cook next to my QF A380 and I'm surprised its being released so soon .

I actually found this pic on accident when I was looking for some different pics of the Swissair MD-11. Going to pass on this one though, I already have the ALP version.

In the past whenever HG has re-released a AA model with winglets, the orgional model didn't have a reg so they just added one. I just got the AA 75W and they didnt add the OW sticker to that one either .

The same is true of their re-release of the 777. Strangely, the first version of the 737 has the oneworld logo, as does the A300. It seems to be hit-or-miss.

I'm sure GJ will release AA B763 soon or later either with or without winglets.

No thanks, typical plastic, lacking lustre and completely devoid of detail. This is why plastic sucks.

There is so much potential to make plastic much better and the manufacturers still churn out guff like this. These look like toys.

how about herpa premiums? they're made of plastic. so they suck arse?

it's a matter of preference. i still prefer plastic over diecast due to its much lighter weight, realism, price, and accuracy.

On the contrary, I used to own three and they are the finest model aircraft ever made. But that's my point, look what can be done with plastic, some of those premiums are pretty old but still they are far superior to the AA above. I mean put them side by side and try telling me Hogans don't look like toys.

true. there was another thread on this saying why herpa premiums went bust because the cost were just through the roof.

anyways,

id like to venture a claim (feel free to object, and discuss) and say that it doesnt cost that much more per model to produce a diecast model vs a plastic model. if this is true, diecast manufactures are just laughing all the way to the bank. im only hypothesizing right now

A toy plane will have oversized plastic wheels, big engines, one color all over and either be friction powered or require large battery cells and feature huge flashing lights and funny whooshing sounds replicating engine noises. It won't be licensed and approved by airlines, accepted by airlines as corporate items and royalty or feature accurate scaled landing gears, correct livery, spinning engines, anti collision/strobe/landing lights, registration, static ports, exit details, cargo doors and display stand and might even be plagued with multiple QC issues.

Hogan feels the same way you do. Look at how they've raised the bar with their new A300 and MD-11 moulds. I wish they had taken this opportunity to retool their 767-300 mould, too.

I also wish they'll re-release the LAN 767. Maybe even a freighter to go with the 777!
