This is the Saudi Royal Flight L-1011-500, hence the HM5 registration and lack of the 'Saudia' logo on the tail.

I too would like to know from where this model can be acquired and for how much. I want it!!!

This model will be available thru ADI the US distributor for Gemini Jets....Notice it is a 500!!! I have a couple of samples and as soon as I get the clearance Ill post some pics...The 500 series possibilities are endless!!! I put my vote at the factory in for a few myself...

P.S. PLEASE DO NOT CALL ADI WITH A MILLION QUESTIONS...they will not have an answer as to price or timeline...this is a picture of a sample and the model is still months away from arrival....

There is a plethora of L-1011-500's in 1:400 scale by Bluebox and GJ.

@CV: Russell if possible, please put in a word for an Alia (Royal Jordanian) and BWIA L-1011-500 please.

This market place is certainly hotting up....... all your Tristars at once.....

Certainly would be nicer if we could see a tad of diversity.... like some 50's propellor jobbie thingys... that er.... D..C something... 4,6 7....

@1200F: This is a 1:200 model, why should it go to the 500 scale forum? You have heard of the Tristar 500 haven't you? You might be confused thinking we're discussing a 500 scale model. We're not. This is the L-1011-500 model.

Lol Kai you're too funny. What did you expect buddy? Look at the rate of inflation these days. Fuel prices up, steel prices up, everythings up.....well hopefully not everything, but you know what I mean.

@Airspotters: Am I allowed to ask approximately when they will be in stock?

oh i knew diecast deals were expensive. thats about all i know. they will never be "affordable" well i guess affordable means different things to different people. $30 is affordable for a model for me.

Same here. The max I have spent on 1 model is $120 which was for the IF200 Pan Am 741. I wanted at least 1 IF200 747, but if they ever release an Iraqi, I'll get that too. My next goal is 1 IF200 707 (Air India), 1 IF200 Tristar (only if they release it in Gulf Air) and as for the DC-10 well if the Herpa LH one is any good, I'll go for that, but generally speaking I stay away from such expensive models. Its not worth it.

and i have to add that we have people here on the boards believing that if GJ releases diecast heavies that they will be cheap!!! if the a320s and 737s are any indicators at $50USD, GJ heavies will come in heavily at $80-$100+ im assuming!

In europe prices are way higher then US, for example the average Hogan is about 25 euro's ( 737's are 19 euro's and 747's are 30 euros)

alsmost 75 % of my salary goes to this hobby

I keep confusing ADI with ARD. Does this ADI have a website? Are they a store or strictly distributors like Daron?

ADI is the owner of Gemini Jets....They are also the US distributor of Phoenix and AV 400 models....They are based in Las Vegas and also run the local Airplane Shop at their location as well...ADI will also be the US distributor of JC models and a few other one offs (like the IL 76 in 1.144 scale too...

Thumbs down Re: New JC Wings 1:200 Saudia L1011 old color

Heads up guys.

I donít post very often as I prefer reading but I feel compelled to let you all know that I have found what I consider a market trapper!

Whilst doing a bit of research on JC Wings, I have come across a website called jcwings.co.uk.

Thinking that this would lead me to JC Wings, I ended up on Airspotters.com.

I canít help but notice their recent postings around this and other forums regarding this range and it would seem to me that by registering the JC Wings website, that they are trying nothing more than to corner the market and fool collectors that they are JC Wings themselves or the importers, when they are not.

From my research, I know that GJ Europe is the importer and distributor of JC Wings and are not related to Airspotters. So why they feel the need to do this is beyond me!

So be aware and donít fall for the same thing that I did and waste your own personal time on this web address or thinking about it and their view of us, even their site. It seems to me that they are just trying to make us collectors look like mugs and idiots or it is some sort of cry of desperation.
