Default PHOTOS Dash 8 - SAA (and Qantas II)

Heathrow show on Sunday.... another ARD bargain.... but I stopped short at buying the pair just for a different registration....

Also managed to pick up a 100% complete Qantas pink-noser - seems there as many without the ribbon on the port side as there are... anyway its for a good cause....

As everyone has wider screens these days.. any objections going to 1000 pixels...? (and keeping the size about the 100/150K mark..)

and the pink jobbie....

before...

and after......

Not to be picky here, but but but... since they did a 99% perfect model here with all the details such as the hatches on the nose cone and on the rear aft and ofcourse the belly fins. I thought that is the best detailed model and I want this model too.

But I would really wanted them to have remembered the strengthened exterior walls near the props.

Check out this picture .
It's the area where it says regional,
you guys see the patch there to protect the walls from ice and stuff. ?

Otherwise this model is 10 out of 10 scores.

That is to protect the cabin from the props just in case they seperate so they don't cut into the fuselage and injure the passengers

Here it is on the ATR-72

I wonder why there are no rubber landing gear. The outcome would be significantly great and more realistic in this scale.

Are you serious ? Now Im all calm now. I was told that it was there to strengthen the walls to protect it from constant beating of ice or any "stuff" coming from the propellers. Heck I don't care, I dont sit near the props on these slow planes anyway, I always sit far at the back to avoid the noise and to get the rollercoaster effect -G when taking off

It may be for that too but there is a anti-icing system to keep ice from accumulating from the center of the prop. The tips spin really fast for ice not to accumulate but if you are flying then the ice just flies off with the airstream.
