Default Virgin Islands International Airways

An interesting subject for possible release would be the Virgin Islands International Airways DC-3 N101AP. I wasn't aware of this airline until the former Piedmont Airlines photographer, Robert Norville, burned it onto my disc along with some other choice slides of his.

I know nothing about this colorful airline other than the fact that N101AP was written off on 09/17/89 after being destroyed on Saint Thomas Island by hurricane Hugo. Apparently this aircraft had already gone to another carrier prior to the hurricane.

Your best bet for this release would be by HE/HG or Small World. By the way, which DC-3 mold would you prefer? Do you have any DC-3s in 1:200?

Newer Herpa mould is my favorite.

I am not sure on the mold since I have yet to purchase a DC-3 in this scale.

The main reason I want a DC-3 is so I can use it as an accent piece. The Rovos Air is a prime example of what I'm looking for because of its unique color scheme. And for that reason, Virgin Islands Int'l. Airways would also fill that bill. IMPO, most major airlines who utilized propliners never had a real standout scheme like some of the small airlines. There are exceptions like Panair do Brasil. But, then of course, their color scheme is the same as the Green Bay Packer colors. Go Pack Go!

If they produce it, I'll buy it.
