…... I was contacted by those Northeast Model Centre chappies.. and after some haggling, a rather oversized and well packaged box containing the other three was delivered last week. Unfortunately it did not escape the attentions of her indoors.. so it was stashed away …..however I managed to sneak out to take the odd piccie or two….

One mans meat and all that, whatever the liveries, these are super little models and just to get the BA A320, you are missing out on some A1 diecast….

The white/grey/blue US Airways is IMHO a much more classier livery.. (and model)

Northwest Airlines

Now every time a later Northwest Airlines livery comes on the scene, that’s the silver all over with the red tail jobbie …. it’s not something to get the juices flowing as ‘silver’ can be a difficult livery to cover and a pain in the whatsit to photograph..… Inflights 707 wasn’t too good the silver had a disco finish… .. their DC9 was a lovely little model as they went for a very fine silver finish. This one is totally different, it looks more like Audi’s gun-metal grey with a layer of varnish – it carries it off quite nicely.. perhaps a little too much varnish..…??.

I got the NWA as the guine pig GJ200. I do agree that GJ did a great job with this mould. The model is simply superb. However, one thing that really puzzled me. GJ went real far recreating almost all of the little details, why would a simple satelite dome (is that it??) be so hard to recreate?? Didn't anyone notice those little swirls inside the engines, just like the real thing? I thought that was an awesome detail. 1/200 scale surely got me hooked; slowly but steadily coming over to the dark side.....oh excellent photos as always secret agent man!!!

Great photos! The over-wing exit alignment still bothers me, though. Especially on the BA.

Thanks Kat.. I wasnt going to bother as an old phart, these Airbus thingy's all look the same.. they don't IMHO have that character that comes from maturity that the likes of a 70 or 72 has.. however Northeast Models pestered.. and a deal was struck. What I think is so nice about these models is the overall package... the box... its so simple... why hasn't that been done before..? the foam.. and out comes the model... no scrabbling with a plastic blown insert or box ends that wont go back in again...

My only gripe would be the stand.. if you get the placement of the stand feet wrong.. the model topples.. and the undercarriage is a bit 'wonky' on some...

No.. they are well worth the money and hopefully it wont be long before Ted and Cebu are spotted on the approach at Baldock International ..

.. thanks for all the nice comments about the photos.... they do take a while photoshopping out the stand..LOL

hehe. i cant even fit my stand into its hole in the plane. a slight defect?
careful people, if you push too hard and that stand slips it will scratch off that paint on the jet like it was nothing.

ah agent, if i only had the time to setup shots like these!

.. that was the one other gripe .. on one of the models the stand dont fit in the hole... in fact the stand wouldnt go together... Wasnt the hole in the plane ...it was the stand as one of the other stands fitted no problems..LOL

Thanks for sharing...excellent pics, as usual. The only problem is the AoA as the A320 is not your typical Trident! :eek: :D

Occasionally they need JATO at Baldock International as it takes a lot of height to clear Mrs Agent...LOL

Steep departures are my thing! Flew on a NWA A320 when they did that departing Chicago Midway Airport's Runway 31C. Nice photos!

You sure JATO would do the trick? To be safe, let's make it VTOL! Time to use your photoshop skills and rotate them engines on the A320! :eek: ;)

Thats what put me off buying this model. I flew on the real G-BUSH many times, so I was looking forward to getting my hands on one. Very disappointed when I saw the model at CAM. :cry:

wow your standards are pretty high then. other than the wing placement, this mold is pristine with all its details. but get it while you can, dont regret it later when its all sold out!

I wouldn't say my standards are that high, after all, I love the InFlight 200 Boeing 737 and loads of people say the cockpit windows spoil it. Every time I looked at the BA A320 in the shop, my eyes were drawn to the wing/emergency exit window mis-alignment and I just thought "no, I don't like it". It may be a good model in other areas, but it didn't look right to me, and that's what counts after all. On that basis alone, I decided not to buy it. Will I regret the decision, maybe, but life's too short to get hung up on such matters. What's more important is that a gliding club near me has a brand new Discus 2CT and I haven't flown it yet!:D

Oh, and I don't like A320's either!

Good for you! Have fun and happy gliding! To me, models come a distant second to flying. Sure sounds like the same to you in regards to gliding! ;)

Thanks D-AIHC! I do like my models, but gliding will always come first as far as hobbies are concerned. ( My wife says she thinks gliding comes before family aswell, but that's not true ). Unfortunately we haven't had a very good summer this year in the UK, but I have still managed to get a few good flights in.
