I'm near to BoeingField. Cant wait for 787 testing!
The whole model is disassembled and snap fits. Small rubber wheels:

and standard boeing box:

Thanks for the pics! The box reminds me of another B744 model.

Some stores are displaying the Boeing 747-800 both pax and freighter on their websites like Diecast Airplane. I will get mine from 200scale when they get them.(They are showing other types like the 767-another favorite of mine and the 777)

The Musuem of Flight is seperate from Boeing, and I don't know if they have the 748 model. Im sure that the Boeing Store should have them, and they have a list of locations on their website. And, yep, $40.

Can someone tell me if they can get it from the Boeing store online? I wrote to them asking about it and those fools don't know anything about it. They say only the 747-400 is available.

why dont you write to the individual retailers? listed at boeingstore.com?
seems like you really want this model! dont want to wait for the cheaper regular release?

No, I don't want it that bad. All though it would be nice to have one with the wood stand. What I'm really waiting for is one from PacMin once it's available. That's the one I want!

I don't live near a boeing store, and the philly one isnt open to the public? I'll be in philly next week but if it isnt open to the public, i'll have to wait for airplane shop, they have it arriving may 1st.

If you have checked Diecast Airplane, you should have seen that there will be many Boeing models in Dreamliner livery available by the end of May.

which ones are those? i dislike all these airplane shop sites because their search functions are rather uncomprehensive and lame. how you suppose to sell stuff effectively?

Here you go:

Diecast Airplanes and Hogan 1:200 May Models. Your collectible aviation source for Corgi, Armour, GeminiJets, Model Power, Dragon Wings, Air Command, Realtoy, Motormax, SMA Seattle Model Aircraft, StarJets, Herpa JetX, Yat Ming, In Air, Aero Classics

Total of 13 models but I only see the B747-8F, not the B747-8I. There is also the B787-8 with landing gears.

i agree with u LWT!

diecastairplane got nice search in my mind, whereas justplanefun has horrible search function especially searching for Herpa in 200 scale. If u input Herpa 200, it will get you 400, 500 scale 747-200 or etc. If u input Herpa and 1/200 in advanced search, it won't pull up all in 1/200 since not all listings contain 1/200 in item title. it rather contains 1/200 info in item description. very inconvenient.

i like justplanefun for price, but i like diecastairplane for search feature especially for herpa 1/200.

I usually narrow down my search with the airline I have in mind instead of the product range. For example, I'll type "Qantas" instead of "Hogan" or "Herpa 1:200".

I have analysed the new pax 747-8. The model is superb dimensionally incorporating the fairly late decision by Boeing to make both the Cargo and Pax versions the same length (circa 250 feet). There is only one minor query - the number of windows on the upper deck on Boeing's "promo" literature is geater than that on the model. But the real thing has not flown yet so the model could be correct.

The nose shape is the best so far for a 1/200 747 - Herpa Premiums included!

Best regards,

Edmund

i can't tell if the nose looks better or worse just yet. i think i can probably tell once i see it in my hands.

but you guys are right, the nose seems different from previous b747 modells! (including herpa premium like dr carus mentioned)

how exciting!!! this is exciting time for collectors! especially these hogan models!!! i would've never thought of buying hogan models before, unless i couldn't find it in herpa models. now, pretty much a different story...

ie. United B772 and Korean B772. These were released in both Herpa and Hogan. Does anyone have pix of HOGAN United B772 and Korean B772?

EDIT: CRAP! i accidentally put B722 rather than B772!!! sorry guys!!! i do love B722 though!!! hehe.

Yes, I see.. Hogan made the UA 772 long time ago.. When I saw 722, I thought it was refering to 727-200....
BTW, attached picture is the 747-8IC ordered by Boeing which were delivered to Lufthansa late last year. The ones LH got have the wooden display stand with engraved metal plaque. Model shown in photo has the stand Hogan plastic stand.

That's right! No registration, no buy! Unless I am desperate enough and add the registration myself. But then, I won't know what particular series of registration LH will eventually use on theie B747-8Is. I do know it will start with D-AB**.

What about checking out the LH Worldshop sometime later? I just checked but it's not listed there now.

Late last year...I'd take it as Novemeber/December. Even so, it's barely 6 months ago. I will probably wait 2-3 more years before I will get mine.

I believe it will be in the Dreamliner livery. The World livery (first flight) is available at the Boeing store currently and it's by Skymarks.
