Nice one Steve, I almost ordered Etihad Choose South Korea I was waiting for this model to arrive, then I did a complete 180 and choose Korean A380-800 50th anniversary model as it was announced in the September 2021 JCW releases. An easy decision for me, but the Etihad Choose South Korea is going to be just as gorgeous. Looking forward to the set photos of you Etihad collectors Steve and Opsman.

I received South Korea and UK is on its way. Comparing it to the JC 789, I believe the color is way off. But nevertheless is beautiful artwork and cant complain much as it is the cheapest A380 I paid for at US$100

Very nice indeed Steve. She would fit in just right with the rest of my fleet. Could be a very nice Birthday present for myself. All i need to do now is show the wife how to order it and for me to pay for it. Nice close up photography.

I was really looking forward to adding this one to my A380 fleet but seeing the pale scheme compared to the actual base colour of Etihad models it's really put me right off. I just cannot display this alongside my other EY A380 & wonder why JC did this...

Piccies of the real aircraft show the special livery over the normal colours & not this off-white scheme

Sorry to rain on your thread Steve, I'm pleased you are enjoying yours & the artwork is fantastic!

Everything is relative Kim. I too can take photos of the subject in question with light not directly over both subjects.

What is very clear that we have all come to accept that buy the Choose ..." add country here" range that they are well made and beautifully applied decals over the original livery. Kim's view as that the A380's undercoat is more pearlescent white than pearlescent gold at the forward top of the A380. He might be right. But in my view, I respectfully, disagree.

I don't want to mislead anyone, I just don't have an older Etihad A380 to compare too. The model is looking ok to me, and that's just my opinion.

Hi guys,

What do you think? I found this photo of what golden pearlescent looks like on Etihad's A380's. The picture below is of
a plastic Herpa snap fit. I will be keeping my Choose London, but thankfully I did not order the Choose South Korea and
only purchased one of these models. I have changed my mind on this release, and now the choice is now yours,
if you have pre orders. Ken you were right.

Be still, my heart!! What a beautiful livery, though I am slightly biased toward anything to the with the UK/England/London.

I don't collect Etihad or A380s, but I'd love to own a model of this livery. I'll have to check if it's available in a more reasonably sized 1:400.

Congrats on the acquisition!!

Fool me once, shame on you JC. I received the South Korea first so theres nothing much I can do. But fool me twice, shame on me, so I have decided to cancel the order for UK even though is the cheapest 380 I have ever paid for at USD100

And is really heartbreaking considering this is not the first time they are doing Etihad. Have they mistaken the color for Emirates?

Reminds me of my JC Wings Air India 747-400 NC's that is white! I'm hoping it ages to become closer to the correct color!

Well, this isn’t too wrong as AIR INDIA had such a B747-400 in this white colour livery (but it didn’t had that registration).

Regarding the A380 ETIHAD, I was also with JCWINGS first release disappointed (the one with the anniversary of the former of the UAE), as its colour didn’t match with the beautiful A380 ETIHAD from GJ200.

So I am very surprised that JCWINGS has it done now even much more worse instead to correct it…

I can only imagine what that beast weighs. A 1:200 diecast 773ER is quite heavy already. The Etihad 1:200 A380 by Skymarks Supreme though plastic and much lighter has the colours absolutely spot on. It's my favourite A380. It's a shame these birds won't be flying for Etihad anymore so you have a great memory there.

There was an excellent video posted elsewhere in this forum about the number of steps and validating that goes into producing railroad locomotive models. I was impressed. Given the price we pay for aircraft models, I sincerely hope the aircraft model manufacturing process is similar to what I saw on that video. Genuinely curious how such a problematic color discrepancy could make it through all the manufacturing steps unnoticed.

I would hope so too, but am afraid not! Airplane MFGs seem to be the bottom feeders of the transportation die-cast industry in GEE EYE NA!

Hi funky monkey,
The A380's hopefully will be here in November, but the B787's have already arrived there is four versions that I have of the B787 in my collection, three made by JC Wings, and one I have made by Herpa, but I believe Herpa does the other versions as well. the three JC Wings are the only Die cast versions at the moment

Cheers Steve, I have Them on pre-order and not heard anything. So fingers crossed I will see them soon. Great pictures. Looking forward to them.
